The moment I passed through the threshold of the safe area into the clearing I felt that familiar feeling. It was like walking into a hot and humid room. The air was suffocating.
Then it hit me.
That pain, that suffering.
My chest felt heavy, my heart was in pain. It was if someone had reached into my chest and was squeezing my heart. I was paralyzed in fear and pain. Then I looked down I saw it the numbers counting down like seconds on a clock.
In that moment through pain in my chest something surged, swelled up from within me replacing the pain.
It was pure, unadulterated rage.
