It was a normal Saturday night and Chris was sitting in the living room of his house. It was silent and he had a beer in his hand, taking a sip from it now and then. That had become a routine after her. It was the only way to numb the pain, the hole in his heart after her.

He had thought about moving ever since...no he couldn't even say the words.

It was fairly easy to know when someone was walking up the stairs. The house was new, but the stairs had already started to creek when someone walked in them. She had told him she didn't mind. It made it feel like a home.

Turning to the doorway he saw Luna standing there. "Can't sleep, baby?" She shook her head as she just stood there. It had been hard for her.

"Come here." He put his beer down on the table and held out his arms for her. She walked over to him and he wrapped his arms around her. She placed her head on his shoulder and let the tears fall. "It's going to be okay, honey."

Her crying had slowed down and he pulled her back and used his thumbs to dry her tears. "How did you and her meet? She told me you met at a gala, and it was love at first sight."

"Is that what she told you?" Chris laughed. One thing was for sure; she loved to make up stories. Luna nodded. "Yes."

"I think it's time I do some damage control. This is the true story about how I met her."

Luna sat back on the sofa and Chris handed her a blanket which she happily accepted and wrapped around her legs as Chris started to tell her the true story.
