"Do not depend on anyone too much in this world,

"Goodnight, your Majesty," Maria told me, smiling slightly, "I'll see you tomorrow morning."

Hah, good luck with that.

By that time, I'd probably be in London with my mother, and I'd never have to see anyone here again.

After my conversation with Damien, that thought seemed like a relief.

Plastering on one last smile, I told her, "Thank you, Maria, I'll see you then."

Nodding, she took the remaining dinner plates, and walked out.

I sighed the moment she stepped out of the room.

Time to go.

Choosing to listen to Selene's proposal, I had quickly wrote Livius a note to ensure that he didn't worry. With all the Vampire drama going on right now, I wouldn't be surprised if he thought I was kidnapped. I also had to make sure that he didn't oust Damien, and his stupid gang.

Grabbing my duffle, I stepped towards the door before turning around and taking in the large bedroom one more time.

I inhaled my mates scent, my heart beating a bit faster than normal as an image of him flashed in my inner eye.

I might actually miss that man.

I'd miss his reassuring scent. His warmth.

I'd miss our bond.

But that was not going to overshadow the fear he planted in my heart. I definitely would not miss that.

However; I somehow didn't realize how much I adored him until I was leaving.

He could be so gentle sometimes.

And after giving me so much, after showering me with so many gifts, I was still leaving him behind.

How would he react?

I shook my head.

I couldn't hesitate.

He was the Alpha King, I was a fae.

We weren't supposed to be mates.

What was the moon goddess even thinking? Pairing me with him of all people.

He destroyed my kingdom, and the Fae killed his mother. If he knew the truth, he'd probably send me away anyway.

Sighing, I shoved my conflicted thoughts aside and stepped out into the hallway, my duffle in hand.

I walked down the hall, retracing the way Livius had taken me just a few days prior, and my eyes widened when I heard a few steps from the other side.

Shoving my bag behind the wall, I peeked through the corner, and let out a sigh when I caught sight of Zander.

What was he doing in the royal wing?

Rolling my eyes in annoyance, I stepped out, and he stared down at me, looking far more emboldened then he did yesterday.

This really was getting to his head.

"Oh, how convenient, I was looking for you, Alexandria," he smirked.

I crossed my arms, I didn't enjoy having people call me Queen Alexandria, but when he said my name like that, I felt the disrespect, not only towards me, but towards my mate.
