"For every high priest, being taken from among men, is made up of things concerning God, on behalf of men, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins."

Hebrews 5: 1

The high priest was responsible for offering sacrifices for the people's sins. He was a figure of Jesus in those times. In addition to making sacrifices for sins, he was also responsible for offering gifts. Today, we no longer need a high priest to enter the presence of the Lord to offer sacrifices as before, because the veil has been torn and we live free in His presence. (Mark 15:38) Jesus took all sins on the cross for us, and we no longer need sacrifices for them. (Isaiah 53: 4-5)

But there is something we still need to offer the Lord that Jesus cannot do for us. We need to offer our gifts to Him, that is, we need to work in the Kingdom. Gifts are tools given by the Holy Spirit so that we can work in the Kingdom, and they cannot stand still, as we will be accountable for them. (1 Corinthians 12: 1-11; Matthew 25: 14-30)

Use the gifts that are in you and be the light of the world! (Matthew 5:14)

God bless you!
