"David danced with all his might before the LORD; and he was girded with a linen priestly stole. So David, with all Israel, brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of trumpets."

2 Samuel 6: 1415

Here David, after having defeated the Philistines, wanted to bring the ark to Jerusalem. The first attempt was frustrating, as Uzzah ended up dying. Before we continue, let's understand a little about what this ark was.

This ark is not the same ark that Noah built. This ark represented the presence of the Lord, and was made by Moses. (Exodus 25:10) Uzzah died, and David was indignant about it. He died because the presence of the Lord cannot be brought in anyway. Nadab and Abiú died when they wanted to bring strange fire to the altar. (Leviticus 10:1-7)

God's presence cannot be brought in anyway. It must be done the way He wants it. David understood this later. He started dancing in the presence of the Lord. (2 Samuel 6:14-15)

When the Lord rejoices with us, He comes with His strength, and strengthens us. (Nehemiah 8:10) David understood this and began to dance in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord wanted this.

Do as David did, and do as God directed you, so He will come upon you!

God bless you!
