CHAPTER 36 * WARNING

TRIGGER WARNING - Aftermath of Physical Assault, Hospital

"Maddie, Maddie," Anna says shaking your shoulder. Alex pulls out his phone and calls an ambulance.

"We should get her outside," Charlotte says, "maybe some fresh air will help."

"George, go tell Pierre and the others," Carlos says picking you up. "Alex go outside and direct the paramedics when they get here."

"Anna grab her purse, come on guys." He says and Charlotte and Luisa rush to open the door and start fanning you as Carlos sets you down. Anna grabs your purse and races out after them.

"Come on Maddie, please wake up," she says, and your eyes flutter open briefly.

Meanwhile George runs through the back door outside where everyone is giving their statements to the police.

"Guys, it's Maddie, she's passed out. We had to call an ambulance." George says looking at Pierre.

"What? Where is she?" Pierre says running inside. Daniel, Max, Charles and Lando not far behind.

"Carlos carried her to the balcony, for some fresh air." George says, as they run through the now almost empty club.

Pierre falls onto his knees next to you when he sees you. "Maddie, Maddie, you need to wake up love." He says shaking you lightly. Your eyes flutter open briefly and you whisper, "Pierre," before losing consciousness again.

"Oh my god," Lando says looking at you, a deep bruise forming on your face from where he slapped you.

"That's not all," Luisa says looking at Lando. She leans over and rolls up your sleeve, revealing the large bruises forming on your wrist from where the guy grabbed you.

"That's it, I'm going to kill him." Max says ready to storm off.

"Nah mate, it's not worth it." Daniel says holding him back.

Just then Alex comes running up the stairs with the paramedics, "she's out here," he says.

"Clear the way guys," the paramedics say, "let us work."

"How long has she been out?" They ask.

"I'm not sure, maybe 10 minutes? She comes in and out of it though." Carlos says.

"How much did she have to drink tonight?" They ask.

"She wasn't drunk if that's what you're asking." Charles says.

"She had 2 shots of something, one at the door and one for the toast, she was just about to get a 3rd drink when this happened." Charlotte says.

"We mean no offence sir; we just need to know for medication interactions." The paramedic says. "Is she allergic to any medications?"

"No, no medications. Just environmental allergies, cats, dogs, pollen that kind of thing." Pierre says trying to keep it together.

"Okay, we're going to put her onto the backboard and get her to the hospital to be checked out. I'm sorry but only one can ride with her." The paramedic says looking at everyone.

"Pierre, you should go." Anna says.

"We'll finish giving our statements, and meet you there later okay?" Carlos says and Pierre nods.

"Can umm... can someone text John and let him know? I have to call her dad." Pierre says.

"Yeah I'm on it buddy," Lando says pulling his phone out.

They get you loaded up onto the stretcher carefully. "Okay let's move," the paramedic says, and Pierre walks away with them.

Everyone stands around for a few minutes, taking in what just happened. Anna starts to breakdown. "I was right there. I should have done something more." Carlos pulls her into a hug and soon enough everyone has tears in their eyes.
