You wake up the next morning, a few hours after feeding Anthoine, the epidural having fully worn off now. You slowly wiggle your toes and move your legs, the pain in your abdomen low and steady. You look over at Anthoine still fast asleep in his bassinet, Pierre, and Pascale both still sound asleep. You check your phone for the time, 7:56am. Perfect timing.

A nurse comes by to check on you a few minutes later and everyone starts to stir awake. You take Anthoine from his bassinet and place him onto your bare chest, as the nurse checks your vitals.

"How's your pain level?" The nurse asks softly.

"Not terrible," you say rubbing Anthoine's back slowly.

"Alright, I'll give you a few minutes, but then we need to get you up and walking." The nurse says and you nod. You kiss Anthoine's head as a smell starts to deep into your nostrils.

"Pierre," you say softly. "You're up." You say smiling.

Pierre chuckles knowing that means it's diaper changing time. He gets everything set up on the diaper table before coming to grab him from you. You smile watching him change Anthoine's diaper without complaint. The nurse comes back in, and you sigh sitting up, your abdomen tender.

Pierre unbuttons his shirt and brings Anthoine over to the couch, laying down placing him on his bare chest. Rubbing Anthoine's back slowly both of their eyes closed. You grab your phone quickly and take a quick video capturing the moment.

The nurse comes over and you slowly swing your legs over the side of the bed, Pascale coming over to help. "Okay, nice and slow." The nurse says and you slowly lower your weight onto them standing up. Your legs feel weak, buckling a little bit, before you find your balance.

"There you go, good job Maddie," Pascale says.

"Great job, let's try to take a couple steps now." The nurse says and you take a few steps the pain in your abdomen increasing. You take a few deep breaths, and it seems to dissipate. You take a few more steps, feeling stronger.

"Good, alright let's not push it. I'll come back in an hour, and have you walk a little bit more." The nurse says as you climb back into bed, you nod and smile, getting comfortable again.

"How about I go get us some breakfast?" Pascale says.

"Oh yes please, decaf coffee for me please." You say smiling.

"I'm sure you can have regular coffee now," Pierre says chuckling lightly.

"I'm not risking it getting into my milk and keeping him up later tonight." You say laughing softly.

"Decaf it is." Pascale says smiling before heading out.

You pull out your phone and smile at all of the congratulatory text messages from your F1 family.

Max, Kelly, Charles, Charlotte, Anna, and Carlos are all going to come by the hospital before the race to see the baby, with everyone else agreeing to come after the race. Luckily, Christian said Pierre doesn't have to be at the track until noon, so he has time to go home, shower, and change before heading to the track.

"I just want to stay like this forever," Pierre says smiling at Anthoine fast asleep on Pierre's bare chest.

"I'll need a turn eventually," you say laughing.

"You can have him when he gets hungry," Pierre says, and you roll your eyes smiling.

Pascale returns a short time later with coffee and breakfast for everyone. You practically drool at the sight of the yogurt parfait and fruit in front of you. You devour your breakfast and sip on the decaf coffee as Anthoine starts to get fussy on Pierre's chest.
