"We have to do it" Logan said

"Ace, come on"

"I don't wanna"

"Then I'll do it"

"I don't want you to do it either"

"Rory" Logan put his hand on Rory's arm "we have to do it"

"But what if she's allergic?"

"That's why we have to do it"

"Fine" Rory sighed "but only a tiny amount"

"Ok"

"Rory..."

"I know. I'm sorry. I'm just stressed"

"It's ok" Logan rubbed her arm

"Ok" the pediatrician came back into the room "it looks like little Lena here is definitely allergic to peanuts"

"So, what now?" Logan asked

"I'd like to do an allergy test. Make sure she's not allergic to anything else"

"When do we do that?"

"We can schedule it for the day after tomorrow. In the meantime don't give her any foods you haven't already"

"Ok"

"Once we figure out what allergies she has and how severe they are, I'll teach you guys how to deal with any reactions she has"

Logan nodded

"I'll give you guys a minute" the doctor left the room

"Ace..." Logan put his hands on Rory's shoulders "plenty of kids have allergies. She's fine"

"I know"

"Then what's wrong?"

"Do you know how they do allergy tests?"

Logan shook his head

"They prick your skin and put small amounts of a bunch of things on your skin to see what you react to. It's not comfortable"

"She won't remember it"

"She's gonna hate us"

"She is not going to hate us" Logan rubbed her arms "if you don't want to be there, I'll take her by myself"

"No, I'm gonna go" Rory sighed

"Ok"

The next morning Rory stepped off the elevator into the newsroom at the San Francisco chronicle.

"Rory!"

"Hey Sam!"

"You're back!"

"I'm back"

"Good, we missed you around here"

"I missed you guys, too"

"Oh, you did not" Sam laughed "you were at home snuggling your baby and publishing your book. How is the baby, by the way?"

"The baby's great" Rory said

"You have to bring her here sometime" San said, excitedly

"Oh, that'll be productive" Rory said, sarcastically
