August 27th
Logan and Rory were in stars hollow with the kids for the first time since Sophie was born. Logan was holding Sophie in her car seat, in one hand and Lena's hand in the other and Rory was holding Daniel's hand as they walked into Luke's
"Grumpy!" Lena ran to Luke
"Hey!" Luke picked up Lena and hugged her before putting her on the counter "and of course, Daniel" He picked up Danny and put him next to Lena "how are you guys going?"
"We're good" Rory said as she and Logan sat down at the counter. Logan set Sophie down, in the car seat, in front of his chair "how about you?"
"I'm good"
"Good" Rory chuckled
Rory talked with Babette and Ms Patty, who were sitting in the diner, for a few minutes
"Mommy!" Danny called out
"Hmm?" Rory turned her attention to Daniel
"Behold! I got a donut!" Danny held up the donut that Luke had given him
"Behold?" Rory laughed "where did you learn that word?"
"Daddy"
Rory looked at Logan "why?"
"I thought it'd be funny" Logan shrugged
"It was" Luke chimed in
Sophie started crying.
Logan got up, took Sophie out of the car seat and rocked her gently.
"Hey, where's mom?" Rory asked
"At the house with April" Luke said "I texted them when you guys got here, so they should be here any minute"
Just then, Lorelai and April walked into the diner along with April's boyfriend, Noah.
"Hey!" Rory got up to greet them
"Hi" April said "Rory, do you know Noah?"
"Yeah, we've met a few times" Rory said "how are you?"
"Good, thanks" Noah said "and you?"
"Also good"
They all went and sat at the counter. Rory also moved Lena and Daniel onto chairs, next to hers. Logan was still rocking a fussy Sophie, he was standing behind Rory
"Mom, go wash your hands" Rory said
"Why?" Lorelai asked
"Just go"
Lorelai gasped "do I finally get to hold the baby?"
"Not if you don't go wash your hands"
Lorelai jumped up "I'm going! I'm going!"
"What's going on?" Noah asked
"Nobody's been allowed to hold the baby because she was born really early and was immune compromised" Rory told him "we got the all clear the other day"
"Ok gimme!" Lorelai came running back over
"I'm not giving you anything until you calm down" Rory said
"I'm calm" Lorelai promised
"That's calm?" Luke raised an eyebrow
"Shut up"
"Alright, here" Logan handed Sophie to Lorelai
"If you squish her or drop her, I will-" Rory stopped and looked around for second "-not finish my sentence, because my kids are here"
