International Booker Prize

November 5th

"What's wrong?" Lorelai asked just as Logan and Rory were about to leave the kids with her

"We've never been away from them for this long" Rory said, looking at Lena who was sitting in the entryway, looking through her bag for her dinosaurs

"It's only a week, Ace" Logan said and put his hand on her shoulder "they'll be here. They'll be fine"

Rory starting tearing up

"No no no! Don't do that" Lorelai said quietly "if she sees that you're upset, she'll get upset"

"I know" Rory took a deep breath and wiped her eyes "Lena" she bent down in front of Lena "you listen to Nana and grandpa, ok?"

Lena nodded

"Ok...I love you so much. We'll see you next week, ok?"

"Ok"

Rory hugged Lena right before standing back up

"Bye munchkin, I love you" Logan kissed the top of Lena's head

"Bye bye"

Rory and Logan both kissed Daniel's cheek before leaving

"You ok?" Logan asked once they were in the car

"Yeah" Rory sighed

"They're with your mom" he put his hand on her thigh "they're gonna be fine"

"I know"

They were halfway through their 7 hour flight to London for the award ceremony. Logan was sitting in the window seat and Rory was next to him, in the aisle. They had pushed the armrest up and he was leaning against the window and she was leaning on him, he had his arm around her and her head was resting on his chest.

They were both sleeping when Rory suddenly sat up, breathing heavily.

"Ace, are you ok?" Logan asked, groggily

Rory shook her head

"Look at me" he said quietly as he rubbed her back  "you're ok, try to calm down"

"I can't...I can't breathe" Rory said through tears

"Is everything ok?" A flight attendant asked. She has been walking by and noticed what was going on.

Rory shook her head

"Are you afraid of flying?" The flight attendant asked

Rory shook her head again

"It's not the flying" Logan sighed "she uh...she's having a panic attack"

"I'm gonna get my coworker. He knows a little more about this than I do" the flight attendant said before walking away

"Just take a deep breath" Logan said, softly and rubbed her back

"I can't" Rory shook her head and looked around the plane

"Look at me" Logan said, gently "ignore everyone else. Focus on me"

A minute later the flight attendant came back with 2 other flight attendants. A crowd of passengers has also gathered to try and see what the commotion was. Logan had climbed over to the other side of Rory putting himself between her and everyone else.

"Do you need water or something?" A flight attendant asked "how can we help?"

"Back off!" Logan snapped "give her space to breathe" he knew he shouldn't have snapped but he was getting worried and he knew the attention wasn't helping
