"What are you doing?" Rory asked when Lena made her way into the kitchen, dressed for school
"What does it look like I'm doing?"
"You're gonna go to school? You just got home, yesterday"
"Can't fall behind" Lena said as she sat down at the table
"You're not in pain?" Logan asked
"Of course I am"
Rory looked at Logan who just shrugged
"Ok then...just take it easy and call us if you need, ok?" Rory said
"Ok"
"Are you gonna let people sign your cast?" Sophie asked
"I don't know" Lena said
"I think you should" Sophie said "and I think you should let me be first"
"Fine Lena smiled "go get a sharpie"
"Yay!" Lena jumped up and ran to get a marker
"You're really gonna let her write on your cast?" Daniel raised an eyebrow
"Why not?" Lena shrugged
"What if she does ugly?"
"It's a giant hunk of fiberglass and plaster that goes from my thigh all the way to my toes.... It can't get uglier"

"You're back!" Lexie said when she said when she saw Lena in the hallway
"I'm back"
"How are the crutches going?" Lexie asked, noticing that Lena was struggling a little
Lena stopped "how was your last root canal?"
"That good,huh?" Lexie chuckled
"It is what it is" Lena sighed
"Hey there" Oliver appeared and kissed Lena
"Oooh" Lexie teased
"Will you stop that?" Lena glared at her
"How's your leg?"
"Painkillers are my friend" Lena joked
"Can I be the first to sign your cast?" Oliver asked
"Too late" Lena turned her leg to the side so Oliver could see where Sophie had signed her cast "you can be second, though"
"I'll take it"

That night April, her husband Noah, and their 7 year old twins, Maya and Lucas came over for dinner.
"Really?!" Lena asked in disbelief
"23 stitches" Noah said, showing them the scar on his arm
"There's no way a football did that" Lena said
"It's true" April said "I was there"
"Oh yeah!" Rory exclaimed "that was your freshman year of college. We were still living in California and you called me all freaked out. Something about Noah and football and blood" Rory remembered "I couldn't understand you were saying"
"I might've been a little freaked out" April said
"You were more freaked out than I was and I was the one looking at my own blood" Noah laughed
"Blood gives me the heebie jeebies, ok?" April said
"Did you guys ever get hurt playing sports?" Lena asked Rory and Logan
"I never played sports" Rory said
"I did, but not seriously. Never got hurt doing it" Logan said
"He got hurt doing other stuff, though" Rory patted Logan's shoulder
"Like what?" Lena asked
"Worst I can think of is probably...My Junior year and his senior year of college" Rory started
"Don't tell her this" Logan protested
"Your dad, uncle Finn, uncle Colin, and their friend Robert went to Costa Rica to parachute off a Cliff...long story short, your dad was an idiot who almost got himself killed"
"Oh, my god!" April gasped
"6 broken ribs, broken leg, concussion, and I can't even remember what else" Logan chuckled
"Torn cartilage in your knees, collapsed lung, internal bleeding...." Rory listed "want me to go on?"
"Please do" Lena giggled
"How about, no?" Logan said "Ace, I think she gets it"
"Alright, I'm done" Rory said
"Are you guys going to the 24 hour dance thing in Stars hollow this weekend?" April asked
"Yeah, but I think we'll just be watching" Rory said "you?"
"We're dancing" April said
"You guys should totally dance!" Lena said
"I don't think so" Rory exhaled
"Please?" Lena asked "for your poor, injured daughter who you love so much?"
"Fine" Logan agreed
"Logan!" Rory lightly smacked his arm
"She's got your eyes!" Logan put his hands up in defense "I cant say no to you when you look at me like that, either"
"I guess we're dancing" Rory said
"Mom!" Daniel ran up from the basement "Sophie took the controller!"
"It's my turn!" Sophie came up after Daniel
"Yeah, and I'm next!" Maya said
"How about nobody's next?" Rory said "It's time for dinner. Go wash your hands"
"Hey, can Oliver come to the dance marathon with us?" Lena asked "I was telling him about it and he said it sounded cool"
"If his parents are ok with it, then it's fine" Rory said
"Thank you" Lena smiled
"Who's Oliver?" Noah asked
"Her boyfriend" Daniel said in a teasing tone, followed by kissing noises
"That's enough" Logan said
"Rewind" April said "you have a boyfriend?!"
"Mhmm" Lena nodded
"When did you grow up?"
"Sometime over the last 16 years" Lena chuckled
"Crazy, right?" Rory said
"Very"
