September 9th

"Do you know where to go?" Logan asked once he, Rory, and Lena arrived at Duke university

"East campus" Lena said "that's where my dorm is. I also need to go to the athletic center to pick up my gear, and I need to go figure out where all my classes are, and I need to get my student ID"

"Let's do your dorm first" Rory said

They made their way over to Lena's dorm

"It's bigger than I thought it'd be" Lena said

"You say that like it's a bad thing" Logan chuckled

"It'll feel smaller once all of your stuff and your roommates stuff is in here" Rory said

They got Lena's stuff into the room before taking care of a few other things. When they got back to Lena's dorm her roommate was there.

"Hey! Lena, right?"

"Yeah" Lena nodded

"Allie" Lena's roommate held out her hand

"Nice to meet you" Lena shook Allie's hand

"Do you mind if I put up curtains in here?" Allie asked

"Um...no, go for it"

"Allie?" Someone called out

"In here" Allie said

"Oh, your roommate's here" Allie's father said

"Lena, this is my dad. Dad, this is Lena" Allie introduced them

"Nice to meet you" Lena shook his hand

A little while later Logan was helping Lena unpack while Rory was at the parents orientation. Allie and her father were also still in the room.

"Hey, when do you start classes?" Logan asked

"Monday" Lena said "but I have my first practice tomorrow."

"I'm back" Rory said as she walked back into the room "and I picked up your student ID" she handed Lena her ID card

"Dad?" Allie called out

"What?" Allie's father came back into the room

"Amazing" Rory chuckled "what are the odds?"

Lena and Logan exchanged a confused look

"Hi Mary" Tristan smirked

"I think my dad knows your mom" Allie whispered to Lena

"And by the look on my mom's face she doesn't like him" Lena whispered back

"That's not my name, Tristan" Rory said

"How do you guys know each other?" Allie asked

"Mary and I go way back" Tristan said, getting an eye roll from Rory

"You didn't date right?" Allie asked "because that would be really weird"

"No!" Rory said "we definitely did NOT date. We went to high school together"

"You were a tease" Tristan said

"You not being able to take no for an answer doesn't make me a tease" Rory said before turning her attention to Lena "did you get your gear?"

"Not yet"

"Let's go get it, now"

The next day-

"You're all set right?" Rory asked

"Yes, you can go home" Lena said

"Ok, I have one last thing for you though" Rory reached into her purse

"What is that?" Lena asked when Rory handed her a box of condoms

"You know what it is"

"Yeah...I don't need that"

"And as comforting as it is for me to know that, I'm not oblivious to the fact that you eventually will, and I'd prefer that you have then when you need them"

Lena just stared at Rory

"Just put it in a drawer somewhere, ok?"

"Fine" Lena chuckled

"Hey there" Oliver walked up behind Lena as she was walking from practice back to her dorm

"Hey!" She turned around and hugged him

"How's your dorm?"

"Get this...my roommate's dad is some guy my mom knew in high school"

"That's really random" Oliver chuckled and put his arm around Lena's shoulders

"Yup. How's yours?"

"My roommate seems ok" Oliver said "he's pretty quiet"

"When's your first class tomorrow?"

"10. Why?"

"I was thinking we should have breakfast"

"Sounds like a plan" Oliver kissed the top of her head

"What are you doing in here?" Rory asked when she passed by Lena's room to see Sophie sitting on Lena's bed

"When's Lena coming home?" Sophie asked

"She's only been gone for 2 days"

Sophie didn't say anything

"You miss her, huh?" Rory sat down next to Sophie

Sophie nodded. Rory put her arm around Sophie

"Me too"
