"Chennie! Hurry! I'm hungry!!", Aera whined for the tenth time.
"Coming! Geez! let's go", Chan held her hand and dragged her out.
It was already past lunch time, but they had some serious work to do.
The next hour was a free period, so they had some time to eat.
They went under the usual tree and unpacked their food.
"I'll get some water", Aera mumbled and ran to the filter water.
When she came back, Chan was done with his food already.
He was hungry too.
"I almost lost my sanity", Aera mumbled.
Chan laughed at her.
She kept nudging him for food the past few hours.
She was about to take a huge bite, when her eyes got stuck on something.
The security guards of the school were chasing a dog.
The school gate was closed, but the dog was looking at the school through the iron bars.
The security guards were trying to chase him away, but he was not barking or anything.
The dog looked like he had a hope that someone will offer him food.
His eyes were looking here and there.
He seemed scared but couldn't run away.
Aera looked at everything with heavy heart.
She stood up with the lunch box and ran to the gate.
"Hey, where are you going?!", Chan ran after her not understanding what she's doing.
She ran to a security guard who looked at her surprised.
"P-please feed him", She kept her eyes low, as her introverted nature took over her.
She extended the box towards the guard.
"Are you sure kid?", The guard asked.
"Sure", she gave him the food.
Chan stood behind her not understanding her.
She whined and tortured him like a mosquito because she was hungry and now she's giving up on her food just like that.
"What will you eat?", Chan questioned her worried as the canteen would be closed by now, because recess was over already.
"Don't worry about me", Aera smiled as she watched the dog eat the food.
She felt like a mother watching the child eat.
She felt satisfied.
The dog ate everything and Aera extended her hand and poured the water in the box.
The dog drank the water as she poured more.
Soon after the dog looked up at her and barked, wagging his tail.
He ran away looking better than before.
"Bestie, here I have a chocolate bar", Chan searched through his bag and gave her the chocolate.
"Thank you", she accepted the chocolate and they went inside the school because the next class is about to start.
The whole time her stomach kept rumbling.
She tolerated her hunger and was only drinking water.
The school was over.
She was standing beside the car, waiting for her brothers.
