Hey so im sorry this chapter isnt up to par but i'm just trying to get back into this. just bear with me for a few chapters and i promise it will get better <3

The days passed quickly with Dean there, him and Jeff getting along better than I had ever hoped for. Every trace of the conversation had been erased and Jeff and I were back to how we were before thankfully. Dean knew something was up but had chosen not to mention anything which I was also grateful for. They were out of the house at the moment, ripping around on Jeff's track in his backyard, leaving me alone in the house to text Seth. I was worried about him, the conversation going a route that I wasn't sure I was liking.

S-So once we get back I feel like we need to have a team meeting.

L-About what? Things seem to be going good.

S- Yeah things are good...but is that how they're going to stay?

L-What do you mean?

S-I mean where do we go from here? We lost the titles but we're going to get them back and then what. What more can we do as a team?

L-We do what we always do Seth. We defend out titles and we stay the champs as long as we can.

S-I just feel like we've plateaued you know? Like once we get them back, what's next?

I frowned down at the phone, not sure what was bringing on this sudden deep thought into the Shield's future. Texting him I was so focused in on texting that I jumped when the door opened, a rambunctious pair of men exploding into the room. They were laughing and talking as they shed their sweaters and boots at the door, making me smile up at them.

"I'm starving so I'm going into town to grab some food" Jeff announced, slipping his shoes on and grabbing the keys, "Any prefernces?"

"Whatever you get is fine." I shrugged casually, knowing Jeff knew me well enough to know what I wanted, Dean agreeing with me.

Nodding he walked out the front door, leaving Dean and I in the living room. Sauntering over he plopped down on the couch, resting his feet in my lap as he settled in. I still hadn't said anything to him about the conversation between Jeff and I and I felt a little guilty for hiding it from him.

"Dean?" I asked softly, turning to catch his gaze.

"Yeah?" he called back, opening his eyes and finding me staring back at him.

"Can I ask you a favour? NO questions asked." I frowned, my hands resting on his legs.

"Of course." He nodded, moving slightly so he was sitting against he arm rest.

I move slightly, tucking my feet underneath my legs, as I gathered my thoughts. This was one of the first big secrets I was trusting Dean to keep and the nerves were kicking in. He could tell this was something big as he caught my eye, those baby blues focused in on me.

"When we go back, can we not tell Seth that you were here with me?" I asked, seeing the understanding bloom on his face, "I am in no way ashamed of you, or trying to hide you or our friendship but I don't want to deal with how he's going to react."

"I get it Lila, don't worry you don't have to explain." He shook his head but I held up a hand, stopping him.

"I feel like I have to. Jeff dropped kind of a bomb on me when I got here. I can't say what it was but we will leave it as it was something life changing." I explained, seeing him listening intently, "If Seth found out I'm not sure what would happen. Throwing you into the mix as well is just asking for trouble."

"Are you asking me to be your dirty little secret?" Dean grinned, that dimple flashing in his cheek and I couldn't help smiling back.

"Don't say it like that." I flushed, watching his eyebrow twitch upwards, "I'm asking you to keep a secret because I liked having you hear and I kind of want to keep this week a memory between us."

Dean was quiet, contemplating my words and I knew that he was mulling it over. My phone vibrated but I ignored it, meeting Dean's eyes instead and I saw the trust in his eyes.

"OF course I won't say anything, all you had to do was ask." He murmured and I felt the weight lift from my chest, "But would he still make a big deal of us being together alone?"

"I don't know. After what happened last week with the tag team titles, who knows what would happen if he found out you were here." I shrugged, glancing down at my phone, "I just don't want to chance it."

"Was that him texting?" he asked, shifting the leg that had the phone on it.

"Yeah." I nodded, opening it and responding quickly before giving my attention back to Dean, "He wants to have a team meeting when we get back. I'm sure it has to do with the titles they lost and what the game plan is."

"I got a feeling after this break we got a lot of work to do when we get back." Dean murmured, rubbing a hand over his jaw, the rasp of his growing beard loud in the room.

"Yea we do. Guaranteed Evolution is coming back around. The Wyatt's have backed off for now but I know they haven't fully given up either so we gotta keep a lookout for that." I thought out loud, the realization of the work we had to do making me sigh, "We got a lot to do."

"You also need to balance the boyfriend with all that." He pointed out with a smirk, making me roll my eyes and I missed the emotions flashing across his face.

"Work first, boyfriend later." I laughed, slightly startled as he sat up and switched sides.

"Is that how he feels too?" he mused, laying that copped head in my lap, looking up at me.

His head fit on my lap perfectly, resting on top of my thighs and I gazed down at him fondly. He immediately had his eyes shut as soon as he laid down, every muscle relaxed and I was struck again by how young he looked. Before I could stop myself I brushed his hair from his forehead, his eyes fluttering open and then shut as I continued, fingers delving into the copper hair I was so fond of.

"Seth understands that work comes first for me, no matter what. Wrestling is my life and nothing comes before that." I frowned, sounding unsure even to my own ears, "At least I hope he does."

Dean made a noise, a noncommittal grunt as my fingers slipped through the silky strands. There was something comforting about just being able to sit there and not worry about anything, no feelings and no stress. The conversation between Seth and I was still running through my thoughts, bringing a nagging feeling along with it.

"What would you do if the Shield ever broke up Dean?" I whispered, my hand stilling against his head as his eyes opened slowly, locking with mine.

"I don't know." He shook his head, looking a little bit panicked, "I've never thought about it."

"You've never thought about going on your own?" I questioned, resuming the movement of my fingers.

He shook his head, my fingers tangling in the thick copper strands, "We came here as the Shield, I planned on being the Shield till the end." He frowned, finding my eyes again, "Why the sudden interrogation?"

"NO reason." I smiled, reassuring him, "I was just curious is all, I mean I came here and I've been by myself. I just wanted to know if you ever thought about it."

"I haven't. Until now." He shrugged, brushing off our conversation as easily as brushing away a fly, "The Shield is the strongest thing in the WWE, we're staying together.

"Yes we are." I agreed, ignoring the buzzing of the phone in my hand.
