Crowley had definitely put up more of a fight than the three ghosts, but both you and Grim came out victorious. You were now bent over, hands on your knees as you tried to caught your breath. Grim laid on the ground next to you panting. He looked up at Crowley expectantly. "Well..?"

The man, now back in his human form, grinned. "Incredible... I've never seen anyone bend a monster to their will quite the way you have. I must confess, my educator's intuition did sense something about you after the brouhaha at orientation, Miss Y/N.
I could tell you had a certain animal trainer-y, beast master-ish quality to you. Oh, yes. That said, I..." Crowley continued to mumble to himself as you stood blankly staring at him. Grim and you both shared at look that said, yeah right.

You glanced over at the window and noticed the rain was still coming down hard, then turned back to Crowley. "Sir, would it be possible for Grim to stay with me?" You said in your best sweet tone. Crowley gasped. "WHAT?! A monster, stay HERE?!" He questioned loudly.

Grim sat up and looked at you through generally surprised eyes. "Woah, did you just...?"

"Please, sir!" You pleaded with your secret weapon. Mrs. Mildred had taught you this years ago. She said she would use this on her husband when she wanted something. Chin slightly tilted downwards, eyes wide, small smile, and bat your lashes. Works every time she says.

Crowley sighed and put his hands on his hips. "Hmmm... I suppose I cannot deny your plea. Very well." Grim shot up as you smiled. "Myah?! Really?"

The headmaster pointed his finger at Grim with a serious look on his face. "Let me be clear! Under no circumstances would I admit anyone to Night Raven College who has not been selected by the Dark Mirror - especially not a monster! Nor do I intend to allow you, Miss Y/N, to freeload until you're able to return home even if you are a girl."

You nodded politely and smiled. "I understand." Grim pouted next to you and crossed his arms. "Hrmph. Never shoulda got my hopes up..."

Crowley stood back up and looked at you. "Now, allow me to explain. It was the Dark Mirror that transported you here. Therefore this school does bear some responsibility for your well-being. So I will allow you to remain in this dorm, free of charge. However, you will need to pay for your own food, clothing, and incidentals. As to how you will do so, penniless as you are... Ah. Ah ha. Yes, a fine plan."

You bit your lip and gulped. Just what did this bird have in mind. He smiled. "You needn't seem so alarmed. I'm simply going to ask you to do a few odd jobs around campus. From what you've done here, Y/N, I can tell you know your way around a broom. So what do you say to you two working together as a janitorial team? If you agree to that, I will make a special exception and allow you to remain on campus."

"I'll also allow you use of the library, so that you may study, and research ways to return home. How soundlessly charitable I am. Ah, but only when your work is over, of course!" He added. Even if it did seem a bit unfair, it's not like you had many other options. Not to mention you get to use that wonderful library.

Knowing he'd have something to say about, you quickly scooped up Grim and smiled at the headmage. "Sounds like a great deal, Crowley! We do we start?" Grim put up a struggle but gave up a few seconds later.

Crowley smiled widely. "Ah. I knew you'd make that choice. Now then, I beseech you both... To work hard as the newest members of the Night Raven College's janitorial staff!" You forced a smile while Grim rolled his eyes. "Whoop-dee-do." He mumbled.

After Crowley had left and you and Grim had split the leftovers, you had searched for a suitable room that wasn't infested with spiders or ghosts. Eventually you came across one. The walls were dirty and peeling, dust masked the floor, and cloths were thrown across several things like a chair and in easel in the corner. But the bed seemed comfy enough.

As you walked past the large, rectangular mirror over the fireplace, you noticed the dark charcoal makeup that the others at the ceremony had on. As much as you would have liked to wash your face, you were too tired and doubted Crowley had turned on the water. So you simply wiped your face on the cloth covering the easel. Then, turning back around, you saw Grim settled down on the corner of the bed. "Ahh... This is better than expected." He said with a blissful sigh.

You laughed and flopped down next to him, quickly getting under the blankets and curling up. It was much softer than expected, not that you minded. "Night Grim. sleep tight." You called out quietly. Grim shuffled and murmured out, "Night, henchman."

You'll work on it.

Before you could make another thought, you fell into a blissful sleep.

...

"Ah!" You yelled as the sudden coldness attacked your body. You tried to curl yourself up and hide your eyes from the sun that was surprising bright in here for having boarded up windows. "Wakey, wakey! Today's your first day in the job. Aren't you supposed to be cleaning up the school."

Peeking through your fingers, you saw the three ghosts floating above your bed and quickly sat up. "You guys! What are you doing here?" You questioned them. They smiled. The medium sized guy put his hands on his hips. "Well, if you're going to be our roommates now, we might as well get along."

Oh. Well... okay.

You swung your legs over the edge. "Okay then, so what do I call you?" You asked kindly. The three looked confused. "What do you mean?" The plump one asked. "Well... you guys do have names, right? Like my name is Y/N L/N. It's what people call me. Well, they just call me Y/N, but still."

The three ghosts exchanged a look. The skinny one was the first to speak up. "We've been alone so long, we've forgotten them." Your face filled with sympathy. "That's awful! Well... if you'd like, I can give you some names." You said calmly. The three of them looked up at you. "Really?" The medium one asked hopefully.

"Yeah." You nodded at them before turning to the plump one. "I think I'm going to call you... Cogsworth. Is that okay?" He smiled happily. "Cogsworth..." He tested it. "I like it!" You laughed a bit before pointing at the skinny one. "How about I call you... Lumière." He grinned and put his hands on his nonexistent hips. "I can bare with that." Finally you turned to the last ghost, the medium sized one. "Hmm... What do you think about... Mr. Potts?" He chuckled slowly. "I think it's a great choice."

Grim shifted in his curled up form and mumbled, "Mmm... 5 more minutes..."

The three ghosts looked at each other before grabbing the end of the blanket and pulling it up causing Grim to fall to the ground.

"Wahh!?"
