Chapter 18

"I am surprised you actually planned this." Adam said as we walked down the road.

I had called Adam the moment I got home the day I took David to Art World. I had to do that because I know he was never going to stop pestering my life until I let him back into my life.

It's three days after Christmas and I told Adam that we should hang out in the park today, although the weather is freaking cold.

Am I not so smart?

We planned to meet in front of Art World and we would walk all the way to the Park to beat time.

"Remember this is not a date," I said, "it's a hang out."

"I know," He smirked, "a special hangout."

I roll my eyes.

The main reason I agreed to this is to know Adam better before he brings more trouble into my life.

Social media wasn't worth the way of knowing somebody.

We continue walking in silence as we just let the December breeze make the noise for us.

The breeze was really cold but I am glad it didn't snow this year neither will it snow for the rest of the season.

"So what are we going to do in the park today?" Adam breaks the silence.

To be honest I didn't know what we were going to do today. I just eventually planned this to see his real side.

I check my watch to see it was 2:15 pm in the afternoon and there's much time for anything.

"Maybe talk.. Eat... Do whatever." I said.

"Hmm whatever sounds fun to me, you know." He smirks and elbows me playfully.

I just scowl at him.

"Not just any whatever you weirdo."

He snorts.

"Yeah I know you're not a nasty girl." He whistles.

"What do you mean by that?" I look at him.

He just looks at me grinning from ear to ear.

I roll my eyes.

Naughty Adam.

Silence fell again, this time more awkward.

If we were dating, we would have been holding hands by now.

I sigh as I look around the place and noticed that we are close to the park.

Really what are we going to do there?

I wish I didn't plan this in the first place.

"There's this question that has been bothering me to ask you."

I sigh and close my eyes.

I knew this situation wasn't going to get any better.

I look at him and wait for him to say more.

"Why were you dressed in a waitress uniform during the ball?"

Thank God this is a good question.

"Because I was a waitress." I trail off.

"You're job is a waitress? That's cool." He said in a sarcastic tone.

"I was only the waitress for that night dummy."

"Why?"

"I had to help my best friend's mum."

"Was it the lady that caught us outside that day?"
