hi bubsss! how are youuu?

this chapter sadly doesn't have a song because honestly its all over the place and I could not decide on a song !

enjoy!

It was hard not to think about Daphne visiting. Hard not to create many scenarios of horrible things that could happen. Hard not to mentally make a script of conversation I'd have with her, while I hide any bitterness I still have for her.

I wanted to be fine with her visiting. I wanted to be happy she was visiting, really. But I wasn't. No matter how many times I told myself to be, no part of her visiting sat well with me.

I even found it hard to look at Draco recently. The image of them sitting comfortably and happily in the astronomy tower was now appearing in my head more often then I ever thought it could.

I know I should talk to him about it, but I can't get myself to. Him knowing that Ive been thinking about it, or even worrying about it, shows that I care. So unless he comes to me and explains it, I'll never know why it happened.

Pansy and I had been preparing the dorm all day for Daphne, who was arriving sometime tonight.

It was the Sunday before tech week, which was truly frightening. Though I felt confident about performing as Belle, there were still so many things that could go wrong.

Once I finish making Daphne's bed, I sit on it, a loud sigh leaving me. I play with my ring, twirling it and raising it up and down my finger, as if its a toy. My head turns quickly to the door as I hear a soft knock.

"Yes?" I ask curiously, automatically knowing its not Pansy from the polite knock.

A familiar platinum haired boy walks in a moment after my questioning, his body language and facial expressions, soft and almost disappointed looking.

I give him a questioning look. "You'll get expelled if anyone finds out you're in a girls' dorm."

"Blaise is 'guarding' the door." He smiles softly. He walks slowly over to me, sitting down almost carefully next to me, though not too close.

We sit in silence for a few moments, as I continue to play with my ring. He turns his head to look at me, though I avoid the eye contact.

"You've been acting off recently," He states quietly, still looking at me. His eyes feel like cold and sharp daggers, but also a soft warm pillow as they look at me.

I unconsciously don't answer as the feeling of his eyes on me confuses me, while also silently begging me to look at them. I knew if I saw his eyes though, those same bad memories would play through my head again, so I resist.

After another few moments of silence, I feel Draco's shoe slowly move to be on the other side of mine, causing our legs to touch.

"I'm not excited to see her either." He says softly, this time looking straight ahead.

I glance down at our legs, before finally looking at him. "You don't have to lie."

He slowly turns his head to look at me, a confused expression dominant on his face.

"How do you expect me to believe you aren't actually excited to see her, after everything that happened?" I ask quietly, not wanting to start a fight.

He sighs quietly, rubbing his hands together in his lap. "I get how it'd seem strange, but I never thought of her like that. I'm not claiming she didn't feel that way for me, but the feelings weren't mutual."

I look down at my lap again, only giving a small shrug as a response.

My breath hitches as Draco forcefully uses his leg that is currently wrapped around mine to pull on my leg, causing my whole body to slide closer to him. My eyes widen slightly at the movement, feeling his breath on my cheek, as I refuse to make eye contact with the boy who was only inches away.

His finger gently pushes my chin to look at him, causing me to swallow thickly as I'm now forced to look into his eyes.

"I dont, and never have, felt that way for her." He says sternly but quietly to me, keeping his finger on my chin to make sure I don't move my head. "Don't ever think that."

I quirk an eyebrow at him, slowly dragging his finger off my chin and back to his lap. "I never said I did." I whisper, slowly standing up. I walk towards the door, opening it for him.

He slowly stands up, a small smirk on his lips, and an eyebrow slightly raised.

"See you tonight." I gesture him out the door.

With a quick glance back at me, he walks out, the smirk still plastered on his lips.

I close the door quietly, before shaking my head slowly and walking over to my bed. The word 'tonight' repeats in my mind, as I prepare for the worst.

A few hours later, Draco, Pansy, Blaise, and myself all wait at the entrance of the castle for Daphne's arrival.

Though none of us said anything, it was clear that the excitement and anticipation was very low. No one jittering with thrill, no one smiling with joy.

A small smile grows on my lips though as I watch Blaise gently wrap his coat around a cold looking Pansy, care and concern prominent in his eyes.

I glance at Draco, who's leaning against one of the walls, staring up at the night sky. I consider the idea of walking over to him and joining his stargazing, though that thought is quickly shut down as I hear noises of a horse driven carriage.

My head quickly turns to watch the carriage make its way towards the castle, feeling slightly anxious. Draco slowly walks over to me, sliding his hands into his pockets.

We glance at each other once more before the carriage arrives, with a squealing, exited, girl inside.

I start jogging towards her, as she practically sprints to Pansy and I. A fake grin is now plastered on my lips, and I refuse to let it die.

"Hiii!" I say in a fake excited voice, though it comes across quite real.

The three of us girls have a group hug for a few moments, panting and laughing filling the circle we've made.

I see Draco and Blaise walk up to us, Daphne's luggage in their hands. It's only seconds after she notices Draco's presence that Daphne's arms are wrapped around his neck, hugging him tightly.

His eyes widen immediately, causing Pansy and I to laugh quietly. "Hey," He says almost confusedly, patting her back lightly.

She finally lets go of him, a giant grin upon her face before walking over to Blaise and playfully punching his arm. "Missed you too Zabini," She says, still grinning.

"Yeah," Blaise fake laughs before looking at Pansy and I while rubbing his arm, his eyes wide with pain.

The group walks to the Slytherin dormitory, while Daphne tells us all about her new school. "There's also a boy I think Y/n would definitely fancy," she adds randomly, catching my attention.

"Oh?" I ask, looking over to her.

"Mhm! He's definitely your type," She smiles, as we all continue to walk through the dark, empty corridors.

Before I can respond, Draco clears his throat loudly, gesturing that we've made it to the common room.

We take the luggage from the boys, wishing them goodnight, before carrying everything to our dorm.
