"Are you sure your parents are okay with me staying here?" I ask nervously, furrowing my brows with concern.

With Pansy's approval, and a letter to her from her parents saying they'd love have to me over, I was planning to stay at the Parkinson manor the first few weeks of winter break.

"Seeing as we're quite literally already in front of my house- I'd say it's a little too late to back out." Pansy laughs quietly, picking up her trunk to begin walking up to the door. "Plus, mum said she's very excited that someone else will get to see her 'new floors'."

I huff humorously, picking up my trunk as well. "Can't wait," I mutter sarcastically.

"Won't have to wait long at all." She responds quietly, raising her eyebrows as she knocks on the door.

Her mother answers only a few seconds later, her friendly smile and high pitched welcoming making it obvious she was waiting for us. "Hi girls!" She says excitedly, hugging us both at the same time.

I had known her mum since our first year at Hogwarts, as I visited Pansy over the few breaks we had throughout the year. She was a nice lady, though something about her niceness made it obvious that she was trying to cover up her husband's grumpiness and sarcasm.

"Hi Mrs. Parkinson," I smile sweetly at her as she gestures for us to come in.

A house elf takes my trunk from my hand almost immediately, causing me slight confusion before I realize it's normal for their house elves to do such actions.

"Perseus! The girls are here!" Daria (Pansy's mother) calls out, a fake smile upon her face to hide her panic. "So! How have you two been?"

"We've been good mum," Pansy responds, giving her mother a sweet yet fake smile.

Pansy had never gotten along too well with her mum. Their personalities didn't go together very well, nor did their opinions. Though the thing that seemed to annoy Pansy the most, was her mother's want and need for her to marry into the Malfoy family.

"Well thats good," Daria responds, a small sigh leaving her mouth as we all stand awkwardly near the door. "Well um- would you fancy some tea?"

"Nice of you to offer mum but I think Y/n and I are gonna go get situated upstairs," Pansy presses her lips together, glancing at me before looking back to her mother.

"Oh right, right! You go do that, I'm sure you'll see your father soon enough." Daria says, a bit of panic and pity in her voice.

"Yeah..." Pansy responds quietly, nodding slowly before we both begin to walk up their tall staircase.

"Oh!" I suddenly say, remembering what Pansy had said. "I love the new floors, Mrs. Parkinson," I smile down at her, turning around.

"Why thank you Y/n!" She responds excitedly, grinning at me.

After a few more moments of walking up the stairs, we get to the top. There were two different corridors to turn into, though from many memories here, I knew Pansy's room was to the right.

"You know you don't have to pity my mum, right?" Pansy says once we get into her room, flopping into the chair in front of her desk.

"I know I don't have to but-" I sigh, sitting down on her bed. "I can't help it. The poor woman acts like its her job to cover up your father's behavior."
