Silver, what if Mephiles was your father? And it would kind of explain why Iblis wouldn't accept you as the vessel. And also, both of your colors are kinda the same.

Silver: Huh? Just because Iblis wouldn't accept me as the vessel doesn't mean I'm Mephiles' son.
Mephiles: And you've probably saw the cutscene in Sonic '06 where I was created with Iblis. What did that have to with Silver?
Silver: And about the "color" part, I don't know. He has dark colors and I have bright colors.
Mephiles: Hm. You're right about that part.
