It was past five in the afternoon when a black Bentley pulled up at Villa No. 6 in the Yunding Palace.

The sunset was in full bloom, painting half the sky orange.

Zhu Yilan got out of the passenger seat and glanced up. Fu Jichen had already gotten out of the car at some point and was walking up the steps in front of the door.

Accustomed to being by his side, she naturally noticed that his steps were more urgent than usual.

Zhu Yilan didn't know why she paid attention to such details, silently following with her bag.

Inside the house, Fu Jichen intended to head to the elevator but first heard voices coming from the kitchen, soft and tinged with a humble request for guidance.

"Is this how you knead it? Why does it not look round?"

Turning decisively, Fu Jichen walked into the kitchen and saw Shen Jianne standing at the island, both hands covered in white glutinous rice flour, shaping a flat dumpling and placing it in a white porcelain plate.

She was wearing a gentle beige knit suit, the top slightly short, just at the waist, creating a visual effect of legs below the chest, making her appear tall and slender, delicate and weak. Furry slippers dragged on her feet, white socks wrapped around her ankles.

"I seem to have kneaded it poorly." Shen Jiannian was too engrossed to notice the person behind her, still discussing dumpling-making techniques with Cheng Jin, "Will it not leak filling when boiled?"

She turned her head slightly as she spoke, her black long hair tied into a low bun, a few strands falling around her cheeks, looking gentle and peaceful.

"Let me see..." Cheng Jin turned around, catching a glimpse of a tall black figure before quickly putting down the well-made dumpling in his hand and going over to greet him, "Sir is back? Look at me, so busy making dumplings I didn't even hear the door opening."

Shen Jiannian turned her head back, the man at the door looking at her with a smile that was not quite a smile.

Behind him, Zhu Yilan stood quietly, wearing a formal dark suit with a houndstooth-patterned coat over it, holding a large tote bag in his hands.

Shen Jiannian walked over to the sink to wash her hands and came over, the black and white eyes looking at Fu Jichen, not knowing what to say, her eyes a bit shy, as if caught in an embarrassing situation.

Fu Jichen gently squeezed her hand and looked at Zhu Yilan waiting on the side, "I'll go get the documents."

Zhu Yilan still had the serious expression of a work environment, "Okay."

Fu Jichen glanced at Shen Jiannian, let go of her hand, turned around, and slowly walked into the elevator.

Cheng Jin went to cook the dumplings, leaving only two women in the living room. Zhu Yilan nodded gently at Shen Jiannian, greeting, "I heard you were injured, are you okay?"

The scar on Shen Jiannian's neck had faded a lot, no longer covering it up with anything, clearly exposed.

"It's okay now, thank you." Shen Jiannian smiled gratefully, inviting her to sit.

Zhu Yilan sat down on the sofa, the indoor heating was too strong, so she took off her coat and held it in her arms. Shen Jiannian poured her a cup of hot tea and placed it on the coffee table in front of her.

The two weren't very familiar, so there wasn't much to talk about.

After a moment of silence, Zhu Yilan picked up the teacup, blew on it lightly, took a sip, and then asked her, "After your injury heals, will you go to work in the group?"
