Every girl needs soft lips because let's face it, chapped lips are really annoying. So when you feel like you need softer lips, these tips might help.
~Make a Lip Scrub~ These are always a good option because they exfoliate your lips, getting rid of the dead skin cells. I've got a DIY lip scrub in a later chapter if you'd like to check it out :)
~Be Careful with Cleansers~ Face washes that are really good for your complexion and skin aren't all that good for your lips. So if your face wash has salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, put Chapstick on your lips before you wash your face to avoid the damage.
~Always have Lip Balm~ Carry lip balm on you whenever you can. Put it in your purse, backpack, nightstand, desk, or bathroom to have it easily accessible. My personal favorite lip balm is Burt's Bees since it's good for the environment and organic.
~Be Careful with Food~ Be careful with spicy and salty foods because they can dry out your lips quickly!
~Cover Up~ Winter can be very harsh on your skin and your lips, especially to those of you who live up north! (Hi, Florida girl here!) So cover your mouth with a scarf or whatever you can to prevent your lips from getting chapped.
~Swap Products~ Try not to wear your matte lipsticks as much, they can make you lick your lips, which will also dry them out quickly. They're also very dry, so try to swap them out for creamier ones. If you're like me, and you love your matte lipstick (my red lipstick is to die for), then make sure you apply chapstick BEFORE applying your lipstick, trust me, it'll help.
~SPF Lip Balm~ In the summer make sure you're wearing lip balms that have SPF in them, your lips can get burned too!
Question of the Chapter: Do you wear lipstick often?
My Answer: Hmm, it depends. If I do my makeup I generally wear lipstick. But it's usually all or nothing when it comes to makeup for me!
