ALISHA

A private jet. Seventeen hours on a private jet and I was sleeping for nine hours. I mean, I just wasted time on a private jet by sleeping. They weren’t meant for sleeping, they were meant for having a blast! But nooo, my body had to fall asleep.

Anyways, I completed the Da Vinci Code, started with the memory keeper’s daughter, composed a song, Skyped with Adrian and then finally…we landed at the CS Mumbai International Airport.

“I freaking love this city!” I grinned wide, getting out of the jet and the customs being taken care of. Then, we just had to get the hell out and get into our cars. It was something like 9 in the morning, so my timetable was pretty messed up. But the humid air and the decorations got me excited as we walked out as a big group towards the arrival terminal. Our cars were standing, with paparazzi scattered. They weren’t high in numbers, so we got in quite easily.

In Mumbai – Alisha

I sent a text to everyone I had left behind back in Beverly Hills, and the entire United States.

“I like.” Arhaan pointed at a huge diya hanging in mid air. They were traditionally made of paper or cloth, and were a symbol of wealth and prosperity. Also, they looked beautiful, especially at night.

“I like it too!” I replied and gawked outside. It was just the same, everything was just as I left it. Skyscrapers on looking the slums, BMWs and Mercedes on roads lined with poverty. I hated the fact that we were still considered a “poor” country. India had a lot of wealth, all of it hidden in Swiss bank accounts thanks to the corruption eating up this nation. I wish I could do something to change it; I tried every day to contribute somehow. With Being Human we had succeeded to a level, but it was still a long way to go.

“Finally, back to my pink room.” I mumbled to myself as I got into the room. Everyone was tired so was getting ready to sleep or had already crashed on the bed. I was gonna follow my entire family and do the same, just when the low finally hit me and I groaned. Moral of the story, travelling messed my numbers up big time. And I knew well that I couldn’t sleep with low numbers. So I did what I did the best…play with music.

Going downstairs, I got the piano set to try out the composition I figured out in the plane. Most of the times I took someone’s help, but this song was special, and a secret.

*laserlight*

In the blink of a night
I was falling from the sky
In the blur, you took my breath away
And my heart starts beating
And my lungs start breathing
And the voice in my head starts screaming
I'm alive!

You're like a laserlight, burning up
Burning down, on me
You're like a laserlight, burning up
Burning down, on me

You make me feel good,
You make me feel safe,
You make me feel like I could live another day
You make me feel good,
You make me feel safe,
You know I wouldn't have it any other way

You and me, face to face
And there's so much I could say
On these words, and forever seem the silence
Can you hear, that box bre-brea-breaking
And the world starts sha-sha-shaking
They keep talking, talking, talking
But we're walking, walking, to the light
Tonight, tonight

You're like a laserlight, burning up
Burning down, on me
You're like a laserlight, burning up
Burning down, on me

You make me feel good,
You make me feel safe,
You make me feel like I could live another day
You make me feel good,
You make me feel safe,
You know I wouldn't have it any other way

Stop...please don't stop...I won't stop
We won't stop...

In the blink of a night
I was falling from the sky
In the blur, you took my breath away

*laserlight ends*

“I’m sending it to Adrian.” Malaika grinned, switching the video camera shut.
