It was finally Sunday, and I was still in my room while everyone was pumped for the DVD launch. Nothing like not being a part of family celebration. This movie was released just days after I got out of the hospital, we had struggled a lot for its launch. The DVD launch was the second last step, followed by the TV premier. Then, it’d be the past. The premier of the movie had been low-profile, and now I couldn’t join the guys at the DVD launch. Give me one reason to be happy.

“Why are you in your room?” Sohail came into my room and I kept my phone aside.

“Mike banned me from the launch.” I pouted and he sat beside me.

“Why?”

“Because I was a few minutes late.” I replied and he raised his brow. Mike never handed out such severe punishments, this was the first. And Sohail knew the fact that I wasn’t the one to get into trouble often.

“You sure you didn’t do anything else?” he pressed to confirm and I shook my head. I had done nothing wrong, I was sure of it.

“I’ll see what I can do.” He rubbed my back and left the room. Coming back a while later he looked at me with eyes flooded with regret.

“So when Mike decides, he doesn’t back of eh?” I raised my brows and he nodded stiffly. Kissing my forehead, he left the room without saying a word. Maybe he was running behind schedule or something. Shrugging it off, I went out to the lawn and sat down with a book in my hands. I had nothing better to do than read.

I fell asleep on the lawn, and I was dreaming about riding a roller coaster with a hippo and he was singing like Rebecca Black…basically something senseless. Suddenly, the hippopotamus started singing the song She Wolf and I woke up with a start. It was nothing but my phone’s ringtone. Half amused and half asleep, I picked up the phone.

“Why the hell would anyone sleep in the lawn?” a hoarse voice echoed on the other end and I was alert. Putting the call on record, I spat into the phone,

“Who’s this?”

“Irrelevant. What I want you to know is that your brother probably loves his money more than his sister or son. Maybe that’s why he refused to give me the money I wanted. I can see every move you make- for example I know you just got up to move towards the house.”

I stopped in my tracks. He was right, I was moving towards the house to get some help. This could be just some prank but we couldn’t risk it. And from what I could hear, this guy had his eyes set on me. Looking around I saw no one peeping from the fences or from any buildings around. Gulping, I went inside.

“You won’t stay under the wraps for long, you know? I’m not scared of you.” I kept talking while signaling Tyson to come downstairs. From the grave look on my face and my dialogues he knew something was wrong and rushed downstairs. Putting the phone on speaker, I waited for a reply.

“That’s why you called your bodyguard to listen to our private little conversation? Don’t fool yourself- and oh, do you know where your nephew is?” he cut the call and I panicked. Arhaan, he could reach Arhaan if he could get my number and spy on me. He was just two years old, he shouldn’t be dragged into whatever this mess was.

“Arhaan, where is he?!” I asked Tyson while he alerted the security to come downstairs and tried to take an action. The number the person called from would be traced, though I knew that he must have already destroyed the data card. They’d then try and find out how the hell he had his filthy eyes upon me and possibly our entire family.

“I’m trying to locate him. He didn’t go to the launch for sure…” Ruth was calling up Arhaan’s nanny and I sat down on the couch.

“Will someone tell me what the hell is going on?” Mike came in and everyone went silent. He was by far the most protective of me when it came down to the security and staff members. He had been with me since I was a child; he had seen me growing up and struggle. He was practically as protective as my brothers, and he officially got to be like that.
