Dovah's POV:

It feels like just yesterday I was comforting Karen after she got scared by a small thunderstorm going on outside.

(A/N: Chp 38 "The Storm Before The Calm")

Seeing her stand up for herself like this, not being afraid of facing danger head-on and inspiring others to do the same... she's really grown a lot, hasn't she?

Over the next few weeks, Karen leads La Resistance against Butters and his Legions of Chaos. With New Kid's charisma powers and some renewed funding, the blond was able to get all his minions back and practically drown them in weaponry, explosives, support equipment, and tinfoil.

And that's just his regular Chaos Minions (and dogs and hamsters and a shitload of angry Mexicans who all live to see the world burn)!

Besides the brainwashed heroes (New Kid ambushed Timmy with him being tortured and brainwashed before Butters had him brainwash the other heroes), Butters also had the crime families Cartman previously rounded up as Mitch Connor, the leftover mutants from Mephesto's Lab, and several other subsidiary groups that gave him enough power to easily take over South Park to his disposal.

Oh, and the other former heroes, much like what happened with Wendy, also got slight costume and name changes (Mysterion became Night Knight, Wonder Tweek became Storm Slayer, etc).

With how much power Karen and Tricia had, they could've wiped Butters and his army out themselves, but that wasn't the point of this mission. Instead the girls worked with La Resistance, taking up commander roles and listening to what their fellow resistance members and allies had to say.

Karen mainly handled the general organizational work like actually maintaining the organization, securing sources of income, amassing assets and recruiting members to be used for fighting and defending, keeping the organization hidden, and so on.

She also got help from the guys working management led by Gavin Throttle; kid from season 10's "Stanley's Cup", the investigative branch led by Marcus Preston; kid from season 21's "Hummels & Heroin", and the leaders of this faction's subsidiaries like Loogie and Billy Miller.

Tricia, meanwhile, mainly handled the actual 'combat' part of this war with Trent Boyett helping her manage the dozens of combat cells La Resistance had (5-10 members each scattered all over Colorado with most making their way to South Park within a couple days). Then there's the demolition and heavy weapons cells lead by Alejandro White who apparently decided to become the Mexican Joker earlier here for some reason.

Frankly, I would've expected someone like him to join Butters' side upon snapping, but he seemed like a nice enough guy in canon before he snapped and he also fucking hates America and South Park, so a resistance movement that's been trying to take down the US Government for a while (that happens to be filled with members who also hate South Park, most of the people in it, or both) probably appealed to him.

Some other familiar faces in the demolition cells are the Afghan versions of Team Stan members featured in season 5. Stereotype issues aside, they also have a bone to pick with the US Government (and Team Stan) and have experience with military operations, so they were more than happy to join La Resistance when they (somehow) found out about it.

Those guys and plenty of others were involved in the organization's combat missions, something Tricia did a wonderful job leading once she got the hang of it.

Their strategy and leadership has improved by leaps and bounds since they first started, just like I had hoped. Real life situations and experiences like this are teaching them better than any simulation T.K. and I can create.
