Chapter 52

Stacey's POV

After the winter holidays we all go back to work except for Mallory who was now resting more we were getting back to business and looking ahead to the spring with a lot of different things going on Nick and Mallory's baby was due in February and Kevin wanted to start building his house when Spring came. Then there was the ranch itself with spring it would mean new life we would have calves, baby goats, chicks from the chickens, and new foals we would need to expand to make room for everything there was property for sale next to us it would give us more room for Kevin to build his and Vanessa's house. I sigh then look up at the house maybe it was time for us to add onto the house the baby would need a nursery and there was six of us in a house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms we definitely needed more space.

Nick's POV

The room for our baby girl's nursery had been painted and cleaned her pink clothes and tiny pairs of jeans along with a small pair of cowboy boots were all in her closet. Today the guys and I were putting her crib and other pieces of furniture along with hanging curtains and a few pictures on the walls one was a picture of Mal and I together, then there were a few of Howie and Stacey and Kevin with Vanessa the next picture was of the ultrasound when we found out we were having a girl. In one corner of the room sat a rocking horse from Howie that had been painted to look like Diablo in another sat a giant teddy bear from her uncle Kevin waiting for my little girl to be born so she could play with her toys.

Stacey's POV

With the days growing closer to Nick and Mallory's baby being born Nick had cut back on his work load so he could be with Mallory in case she went into labor early and Kevin and Vanessa were beginning to look at different house plans to get ideas for their house. Howie and I look into the available property next to us that was for sale it would give us an additional thousand acres of land to the ranch I look over at Howie "Do you think buying this would have been a good idea?" He looks at me "It would be a great investment that would payoff we could have more cows and horses that way Kevin can even build his house here." I nod "I was thinking about adding on to the house we could use the space with a baby on the way it would be good for future babies too." That statement scares me did he mean for us to have babies next I loved Howie but I didn't know if I was ready for that yet.

Mallory's POV

It was the day of mine and Nick's baby shower and I was really nervous my parents were here and so were Nick's. For the first part I walk around and talk to our friends then I introduce Nick to my parents they were surprised but they ended up being really nice to him we talk for a while then Stacey and Vanessa introduce them to Howie and Kevin Nick and I walk to the other side of the room where he introduces me to his parents his mom is thrilled about the baby and his dad is really nice and a lot like Nick. Later on after we eat we all gather around to open gifts I have Nick on one side of me and Vanessa on the other to write down the gifts Nick and I open the first gift from Howie and Stacy and they had bought a pink sparkly bathtub, the next gift is from Kevin and Vanessa she had picked out more onesies and one of them said this is my little black dress Kevin has gotten her another toy only instead of a giant bear this time it was a wolf. It was time for Brian's gift next he brings in a rocking chair that had been handmade and hand painted it was an amazing gift that he had put a lot of time and effort into this had been a great baby shower.
