"I already told you it's not a big issue Kay."
I glared over at him and rolled my eyes lowly. He's always saying that, and then a big issue happens. All I want is peace, i'm about to be an adult in two weeks. Dealing with the same things I did as a kid is so played out.
"You can't say that when this isn't your home."
"Why it ain't? It's my sisters and she not the type to run somebody away unless they bothering her. You don't bother her Makayla. She's said it plenty of times that she likes when you're here."
I huffed and shook my head, over the conversation. We're not agreeing so it needs to stop right now. It'll just start an argument and I don't wanna argue. It really makes me feel bad because he's helping me by letting me come here with him.
My parents aren't the best, so any chance I have away makes me feel good. Especially when it's with him.
"Don't be doing that. Tell me what you thinking bout. Cause i'm trynna make shit better for you. I don't like that, youn deserve what's going on. Let me help Makayla." I watched him move around the room to get dressed. Onika moved us to the guest room with the bathroom inside because she said we deserved more privacy. I really like her, she's sweet. Even though it's closer to their room and we hear everything going on, it's really cool.
"I don't feel any way. If I can get away, I will. But when I have to go home, I will do that as well."
"But if you do what I said and talk to Onika about staying here, you won't have to do all that." He moved to stand over me and I watched him. I looked at the floor because his stare was intimidating me. It always makes me nervous. "Look at me Makayla." He whispered while bending down before lifting my chin. "Stop acting like that alright? Onika will be willing to help, she not gon turn you down. It'll confuse her if you don't talk to her. Yea you may hear her yelling at us and Beyoncé, but that's because we get on her nerves. That's what comes with us....You really in need of help so she not gon do half the shit she do to us, to you. But if you get comfortable here and become apart of us, you gon get the same treatment. She gon treat you like a regular ass sister."
I sighed and tried to look away from him. It's not that I don't want help from her, I just don't want to be a burden. She has a full house already and I don't want to overpack. I'm already over here so many days out of the week, I don't want her to feel any type of way about me being here....Basically I don't want to stay somewhere that i'm not wanted.
"She has two kids now Cai...."
"Are you a fucking kid? Do she gotta change your diaper and make sure you eat? No. We take care of ourselves, only two she gon be really worried about is those babies. You know she check in on us, ask if we're hungry and shit. But it's not something she's obligated to do. If we're hungry, we go in that kitchen and eat. If we gotta do something, we do it. She doesn't make us ask for everything Makayla. She's young so she understands. She'll probably get mad if we did ask her for everything."
