Leonard 'Bones' McCoy x Girlfriend!Nurse!Reader

McCoy groaned, the clap of thunder waking his otherwise peaceful sleep. He rolled over and gathered you in his arms sharing in your warmth. You were both on shore leave, he found it ironic that he fell for a nurse but he loved you nonetheless. You, still asleep rolled over to face him and shuffled into your boyfriend's arms. He shut his eyes intending to fall back asleep, when "Dad?" His daughter Joanna, from his previous marriage, entered the room. "Yeah, sweetheart?" She shuffled her feet as you woke. "Come here." You muttered sleepily. She scrambled up the foot of the bed and wiggled in between the pair of you. Joanna wiggled so she was laying on her back, Leonard lay on his side facing the middle of the bed, you lay the same way on the opposite side to him. You moved one arm so it lay under the blankets but overtop of Joanna comforting her, your other arm lay so that it was under your head. More claps of thunder elicited a frightened squeal from the young girl. You moved your arm from under your head to smooth the frightened girl's hair. "It's ok, sweetie, it's just the angels bowling." McCoy pulled the blankets up around the three of you in order to hide his grin. Joanna smiled, "Whose winning?" You shrugged, "I don't know. Who do you think is winning?"

She wiggled down, as Leonard told her a story about angels bowling against the demons. After a while, she fell asleep again as the thunder rumbled through the town. You follow her shortly afterward. Leonard grinned, and pulled the blankets more securely around his daughter and his new love. He fell asleep ignoring the glowing lights on his alarm, showing he had a couple of hours left until both you had he had to leave for the mission. The blaring woke Joanna first, she wriggled around to hug her father. He woke to the fierce hug and rolled so she lay on top of him. "What's the matter, sweetheart?" She sniffed. "You have to leave now." You woke to the pair hugging, noticing you had woken up, she waved you over. You hugged her too, "We'll send presents and videos and we can video chat as much as you want." McCoy told her, she grinned, "And we will come back whenever we get the chance. Or if Jim gets the Enterprise blown up. Whatever happens first." She laughed aloud at that.

You were ready and helping the medical department get squared away after saying one last goodbye to Joanna, Leonard was still with her. Jim entered, "Where's Bones?"

"With Joanna." He nodded, knowing the emotions they were going through, "I'll go say goodbye to her too, and promise to not blow up the Enterprise this time." You laughed, "Might want to say that to Scotty too." He grinned roguishly before leaving you. Leonard entered his office after the Enterprise had left its dock. You entered his office with a PADD showing the information about the physicals, he was staring at a photo of Joanna. "She will be fine, and you can call her tonight and every other night." He grinned slightly, you moved and placed the PADD down on the desk. You cupped his face in your hands, "She loves you, she understands that you have a demanding job. She loves your space stories especially the ones where Jim blows something up." He smiled and stood, kissing you he leaned you against the wall. Pressing his hips into yours more out of tiredness than experience. The late night with Joanna taking its toll. He pulled away, his lips still brushing yours. "I love you, Y/N."
