The smell of turkey and baked vegetables swarmed around the house, the smell lingering up into Stiles' room where the two of you were currently sat.
"You look nervous," Stiles suddenly announced. "This is just a Christmas dinner. You and my Dad get along just fine. So whats wrong?"
"I'm not nervous about the dinner." You mumbled, clearly distracted not by the thought of having to sit through a dinner with Stiles and his Dad, but by the announcement you were planning to make during it.
A week ago you had found out that you were pregnant, and without being able to come up with any other way to break the news to Stiles, you figured you could get it all over and done with during dinner.
Your brain was running a mile a minute, sorting through countless different scenarios and possibilities of tonight. You were sure that it would all run smoothly, but you couldn't stop a part of you from thinking that it could ruin everything.
"So what are you nervous about?" Stiles was sitting right beside you now on his bed, his hand placing itself on top of yours.
You looked up to meet Stiles' gaze, contemplating just telling him, but thankfully his Dad called the two of you down. This was it.
Once the three of you were seated around the dinner table, the food was passed around and that's when the small talk broke out between Stiles and his Dad. You sat in silence, running through possible ways to actually break the news to them.
So... I've known this for a week now and I figured tonight would be a good time to say it and... I'm pregnant!
Oh, hey, by the way... I'm pregnant. Merry Christmas!
"(Y/n)?"
You snapped out of your trance, looking over to Stiles, "Hm?"
"Are you okay?" He asked, worry swimming behind his eyes as he stared at you with a smear of mashed potato on his cheek.
"No, actually. I, uh, have something to say," This was it. "So, um, I've known this for around a week now and I kind of held off telling you because I guess I was scared of your reaction? But I figured tonight would be a good night to say that... I'm pregnant."
Silence settled over the house and it left a sick feeling in your stomach. This reaction was not what you had planned. The sudden clattering of Stiles' knife and fork hitting the table caused you to jump, head snapping to look at him, only he wasn't in his seat.
He had jumped up, rushing around to where you were sat. He pulled you to your feet, wrapping his arms tightly around your waist as he lifted you from the ground, spinning you around. Wrapping your arms around his neck you buried your head into the crook of his neck to stifle your giggles.
When he finally placed you back onto the ground he had the biggest smile on his lips as he stared down at you. "This is the best Christmas present ever."
"I'm gonna be a grandfather?" His Dad suddenly whispered. As you cast your gaze to him you could see tears swimming in his eyes.
Stiles and yourself couldn't help but laugh lightly at him as you both nodded, this causing him to push his chair back and rush over to the two of you and pull you both into a hug.
Needless to say, the reaction you got was far from what you were expecting. You didn't expect anyone to be crying over it, but it turned out that all three of you were crying. And nine months a little baby Stilinski was born into the world and Stiles and yourself couldn't be happier.
