THIRTEEN.

I walk into the cafeteria and take a seat waiting for everyone else. I grab my phone opening a message from Cameron.

Cam <3

C- hey you never texted me back last night.

K- sorry I'll try later. At school.

I sigh turning if my phone. I look at my nails, then kat sits down. "Hey" she smiles.

"Down to go get our nails done later, it's been a while." I kept looking at my bitten down nails.

"Sounds good. I'm sure Tara would be cool with it." Kat nods. Then slowly after Tara sits down.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and see Colby. I let him sit next to me. "Here" he hands me the paper I asked for.

"Thanks." I smile folding it and putting it in my pocket.

"You know I'm supposed to study with you and not do the work for you." He laughs. I roll my eyes.

"K whatevs" I look at Tara who had Jake sitting next to her. Shocker.

"Tara. Me and kat are going to get our nails done later, coming?" I asked.

"Yeah can Jake c-" she didn't get to finish before I blurted, "no. Girls only."

"Yeah, get all dolled up for me tonight." Colby whispered.

I felt shivers go down my spine as his voice echoed threw my brain. "Sure, but know I'm not doing it for you." I smirk.

I walk inside the house seeing the house clean, surprisingly. It smelt like lavenders. I dropped my bag and took off my shoes. "Dad?" I yelled.

He walks from upstairs. "Hey bug." He smiled. I gave him a weird look.

"Me and the girls are gonna go get our nails done, then go over to... Tara's for a pool party." I look at him.

"Okay. Here take this." He hands me 30 bucks. "It's not a lot, pay for you nails." He smiled walking off.

I love seeing this side of my dad, even though it'll only last for three days. Then it'll be back to "normal"

I walk upstairs and pick out the bathing suit I got. I set it on my bed. I hear a honk outside so I rush downstairs and out the door, quickly putting on my shoes and I walked.

I got in the car. "Alright. Let's go" I smiled at Tara and Kat.

"Since when is your dad nice." Tara laughs.

"Since he is in his 4 day stage of niceness." They followed me upstairs. Kat shut the door behind me and Tara. I carefully took off my shirt and pants trying not to mess up my nails.

I put on the snake print bathing suit I bought and slid it on. I put on some shorts to cover the bottoms. Tara and kat raided my closet looking for bikinis.

"So are you and Jake dating?" Kat asked Tara. "Not yet, hopefully soon though. I really like him." Tara smiles.

"I can tell." I laugh putting my hair in a messy bun.

"You and Colby seem to be getting close." Kat looks at me.

"Yeah friends. I'm dating cam and I'm not gonna cheat on him." I laugh.

"Yeah yeah we know. But like why long distance. They never work out." Tara sighs.

"I might break up with him. It's always about sex or nudes and I just can't do it." I groan.

"We'll whatever makes you happy" Katrina hugs me. I hug her back giving her a big smile.

"I love yall" I laugh.

"We love you." Tara makes a kissy face. I smile.

"Y'all ready yet?" I ask. Tara and Katrina walk over to their bags. "Yeah let's go." Katrina says grabbing her phone.

We walk out my room and I turn off my light and shut the door behind us. "Leaving." I look at my dad as we pass him.

We walk to the car and I get in the back while Tara and kat sit in the front. "Post Malone?" Katrina ask connecting her phone to Bluetooth.

"Yeah. Most definitely"  she turned in sugar wraith and we listened and sang along.

I guess Jake had texted Tara the address. I've been to Colby's house but forgot the way. After about 5 songs we arrived. I got out the car. My phone started ringing, it was cam. I turn off my phone.

We walk to the door, I plant a knock at it.
