SIXTY EIGHT

"What do you even need from here" I ask Colby as he pulls into the parking spot at cvs.

"Things." He shrugged taking his keys out. He opened the door. I got out, shutting the door. We walked in and I didn't know where we were going so I just followed Colby.

I followed him into an isle, he stop in-front of certain boxes. "Seriously" I give him a look.

"What I'm out." He laughed. He grabbed a box. "You know you could just take the ones I have at my house." I suggested.

"Well what if I forgot mine. Then we don't have any" he gave me a look with his eyes. I playfully shoved him.

"Okay, well while we are here I need to get something." I told him. "Ok" he nodded. He followed me.

"Tampons?" He asked. "Yeah. I'm almost out, and I start next week." I looked at him.

I bent down to grab a box, I felt Colby grab my hips and force my body against his. I laughed. "Stop." I handed the box to him, looking over at the cashier who was most definitely judging us or concerned.

"Cmon." I grabbed Colby's hand bringing him to the cashier. "This all?" He asked. "Yes sir" I smiled.

"Twenty four, thirty two" he said our total. I grabbed my wallet, taking out my card. I swiped it. "Have a good night" the man sighed handing me the bag. "You too." I shot him a smile.

Me and Colby walked away. "He loves his job doesn't he?" Colby said sarcastically. I shook my head smiling.

We pulled into my driveway. I bit the inside of my cheek. "Are you sure you wanna ask? We can wait" Colby saw how nervous I was. "No, it's okay. It's now or never." I sighed.

"Yeah" he smiled. "Alright let's go" I opened the car door keeping the cvs bag in my hand. We walk up to the door, I grab the key from under the mat unlocking the door.

"Dad?" I call out. I shut the door behind Colby. "In the kitchen." He yells. I set to bag on the bottom step of the stairs, "come" I bring Colby with me to the kitchen.

My dad eyes Colby. "Hey" my dad nods his head at Colby as he continues to cut a cucumber.

"Hi." Colby smiled a bit. "So, Uhm." I hit the inside of my cheek.

"I'm almost eighteen, you know." I mention to my dad. "Yeah, my little girl is almost an adult." My dad smiles, taking the cooped cucumbers putting them into a bowl. "Making salad" he smiled.

"Yeah well. Me me Colby were talking and I think I wanna move in with him." I said and my dad paused.

"With his parents? Or get your own place?" My dad asked. "Uhm, our own place. We're dating now so." I look at Colby smiling and he smiles back.

"I mean that's fine, we're still close so I can still see you." My dad continues to do what he was doing.

"About that." I paused. "We wanna move to la." I paused again. "California"

My dad stop putting down the fork he had. "California?" He looked at me.

"Yeah, you know I have some money saved up, Colby already has the house rented, it would be me, him and his friend, possibly Katrina, I would still go to coll-" my dad stopped me.

"No" is all he said. "What." I furrow my eye brows.

"No, your not moving to California at seventeen. Eighteen sure, now no." He shook his head.

"Dad I turn eighteen in like a month, it's not that big of-" he interrupted me again.

"Kiara! I said no! That's that." He looked at me sternly, I flinched a little. It's been a while since I've heard my dad yell.

Colby just looked at me. "Okay" is all I said. I walked away. Colby followed me. I grabbed the bag from the bottom steps walking up.

I heard Colby's foot steps behind me, I walked into my room and he shut the door behind him. I sat down on my bed. I laid back. I felt Colby pick up my foot he untied my shoes, taking them off for me. He sat down putting my legs in his lap.

He started massaging my feet. "I tried" I sighed.

"I know, it's okay." Colby said. "Do you think we could make three weeks of long distance?" I asked.

"Of course. I don't want anyone else other than you." Colby said. I sat up, using my elbows to support my body. He smiled and I smiled back, he leaned down, kissing me. I placed my hand on the side of his neck. He laid beside me, pulling my leg onto his hip.

He pulled from the kiss rubbing his thumb over my lip, then rubbed my chin. "Your so beautiful" he whispered.

I smiled laughing a little. "Sorry" I shook my head. "Thank you." I smiled again laughing. He laughed a little to, pulling my head to his chest.
