I parked my car right outside, slamming the door shut and I didn't care that it wasn't straight.

I kicked off my heels and dumped my bag aside before plopping down on the couch with aloud thud.

"Looks like someone had a bad day at work," Jax remarked as he raised an eyebrow at me, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"No shit. I am so mad right now," I admitted, crossing my arms over my chest before leaning back into the couch. "I wish she steps on a piece of lego her kids left on the floor when she gets home and then proceeds to suffer in eternal pain."

"Woah woah woah, calm down there," he let out a deep chuckle. "Tell me what she did to my beloved wife that got her this mad," he asked, a teasing tone to his voice as a knowing smile graced his lips.

"I don't want to talk about it."

He scooted closer to me, putting an arm around my shoulder. "Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded once more.

"Aw, come on. I'm all ears," he announced, jiggling his ears at me, making me laugh a little.

We discovered this secret talent of his one day when we were laying down in bed, talking about the secret talents we have. He insisted that he could jiggle his ears and miraculously he did it. We were both shocked but we couldn't help but laugh hysterically. Ever since then, whenever I'm mad or sad he would jiggle his ears in attempt to make me laugh. And let's just say, it never fails to make me laugh, even if it's just a small smile.

"Alright fine," I finally gave in as I straightened my posture and turned my body so that I'm facing him. "So, I was giving my presentation in front of the team and she had to interrupt me halfway. She had the audacity to walk right up and told me to go back to my seat and that I'm done. Who is she to tell me I'm done? Of course, I didn't just go back to my seat, I stood there insisting that I had to finish this presentation. And guess what?" I paused to take in a deep breath before continuing.

"What?" He leaned in closer to me if that's even possible with a raised eyebrow as he waited for my answer.

"Mama! Papa!" A high pitched voice interrupted out of nowhere. The both of us immediately whipped our heads around to see our little girl walking towards us, swaying from side to side as she did so. The frown that I once had on my face soon faded and was replaced with a smile.

"I swear she was napping 20 minutes ago," I heard Jax mumbled under his breath.

Maia finally reached us as she attempted to climb onto the couch, putting one leg up. I chuckled as she struggled before pulling her up, putting her to sit on my lap. "What are you doing out here sweet heart?" I asked, a smile tugging at the corner of my lips.

"See... See," she muttered as she rubbed her sleepy eyes, vaguely pointing in a certain direction.

"What is it?"

"See mama!" She repeated, a little louder this time, her tiny finger pointing in the same direction.

I quickly let her down and she grabbed onto my hand, pulling me along with her. It was only then I realised she was guiding me to her room. She halted in her tracks, turning around to face Jax who was watching with an amused grin. "Papa, you too."

And so, she held onto both of our hands and walked as to her bedroom. Once we stepped in, I let my eyes wander about. I noticed how her table was in a mess, crayons and colour pencils scattered all over, some drawings on the table as well. Papers were thrown all over the wooden floor, her soft toys laying around the room in random places.

I turned to face Jax, cocking an eyebrow at him. "Jax?"

"I know, I know," he raised both his arms up in mock surrender, a sheepish grin plastered across his face. "I will clean this up."

I watched as Maia made her way to the bedside drawer, pulling it open, searching for god knows what.

"Mama!" Maia called out to me after awhile, approaching me with a piece of paper in her hand. "For you!" She exclaimed happily, a big smile danced onto her lips. She handed me the paper and beside me I see Jax face palmed himself.

I took the piece of slightly crumpled paper from her and examined it. The words 'Happy mother's day' was scribbled across it in a messy handwriting written in crayons. Below it was a drawing of the three of us and it reads 'you are the best mama, we love you.'

Naturally, my lips twitched upwards into a wide genuine smile. "I love you mama." Maia had her chubby arms wrapped around one of my leg and I lifted her up to place a kiss on her cheek.

"Thank you sweet heart. This is amazing Maia, mama love it," I said, giving her another kiss. "Did papa help you with this?" I asked and she nodded enthusiastically, a lopsided grin plastered across her face

I turned to see Jax shaking his head lightly beside me, a small smile on his face. "Maia, you messed up. We are suppose to keep this a secret till tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?" She repeated, her eyebrows knitted together, confusion evident in her big round eyes.

"Yes Maia," he teased, poking her nose which made her giggle.

It was times like this that made me truly happy, and honestly nothing could ruin my mood. I had long forgotten about my bad day at work and my mood was instantly lifted. Hearing their laughter made me laughed too and I couldn't help but smile so hard till my cheeks ache.

And everytime I look at them, I realise what I'm living for.

God, I love them both so so much.
