Parental Bonding: Part 2

"Please don't say you've suddenly fallen for me, that line is so last semester," Paulina scoffs as she takes a bite of yogurt. 

Still, a bit dizzy Danny gets up and incoherently says, "Yeah," Realizing what he said he corrected himself. "I mean no t-that's not it. I'm Danny."

He introduced himself when his pants fell down. Everybody began laughing at Danny immediately as Sam, Tucker, and I watched in horror.

 "Haha, a gentleman usually tips his hat but I'll give you points for originality," Paulina laughs, crossing her arms.

 Frowning me and Sam walk over to Danny and Sam stated "Koodos Danny you just set an all-time speed record for drowning in the shallow end of the jean pool."

 Chuckling I add in, "Especially for this brat of an oversized doll."

Looking insulted Paulina points at us and asks "Oh no you did not just call me a shallow doll did you?" 

Crossing our arms Sam and I glared at Paulina as Sam nodded. "If you mean do we think we can stand in a puddle full of you and not get our feet wet? Then yeah." 

"Shallow? I am not shallow!" Paulina said looking angrier than before. 

Grabbing Danny's hand I storm off dragging him with me as Sam follows us, leaving Paulina to mumble to herself.

Danny grabs his books from his locker, still feeling bummed out over his failure with Paulina the other day.

"Thanks to you I now know the quickest way to a woman's heart: clean boxers," Tuck said proudly in a teasing tone. 

Rubbing his hand behind his neck Danny told Tucker, "Man I blew it yesterday. Paulina probably won't even look at me now."

"Yoohoo Danny!" Paulina suddenly called from down the hall, catching the attention of every swooning guy in the hall.

"Or not, hey Tuck?"

"I got it I'm out! Good luck," Tucker gives him a thumbs up before cramming.

"Hi, you haha I just wanted to-" Paulina started before she was cut off by Dash who shoved Danny into his locker.

 "Meet me? Who doesn't?"

Turning invisible and phasing through his locker Danny grabbed ahold of Dash while he introduced himself to Paulina.

"Dash Baxter all-star quarterback and school hero. I'm also- In Dash's body?!"

Danny stared at Dash's hands in amazement. He had just overshadowed Dash and taken over him. Did this mean he wasn't just limited to three powers?

"Excuse me?" Paulina blinked in confusion, reminding Danny of the situation.

Right of course. I'm also president of the Casper High Geek Club and I have every toenail I've ever clipped wanna see 'em?" 

"No," Paulina responds coldly.

"Oh, then you should get to know Danny Fenton he doesn't scrub his Mom's feet every night like I do!" Dash grabbed Paulina's foot and began looking it over, creeping her out more.

"Eww get lost loser!"

Dash walks away before Danny leaves his body and flies back into his locker for Paulina to let him out. Opening Danny's locker Paulina went to help him out when he fell on the floor. The pendant that the dragon was wearing earlier fell out of Danny's bag as Paulina was about to offer Danny a hand she took notice of the amulet.

We have to stop meeting like this...Oh my gosh! What's that?"

"Oh, that? It's a...You like it?" Danny stutters, pointing at the amulet with a smile.

 "It's beautiful!"

"Hey, that's great! Because I uh...Got it for you!"

"Really?!" Paulina asks, excitedly.

"Yeah uh...In case I got the nerve to ask you to the dance and you said yes I thought I would wanna give you something and that's what it would have been! It's for you whether you go with me or not," Danny rambles, coming up with a quick excuse for the amulet.

Feeling his pants begin to fall down again, Danny grabs them before his ghost powers can ruin this for him again.

 "Well you are kinda cute and you have great taste in underwear, I'd love to go with you!" Paulina puts the amulet on and waves goodbye. 

"What am I doing? That thing doesn't belong to me; it could be my Mom's or my sister's," Danny mumbles to himself.

Walking the hallways to my next class I stumble upon a very interesting conversation between Danny and Paulina.

She still wants to talk to Danny after the incident yesterday?

I couldn't help but wonder as I pressed against the wall and listened in, curious to see how this would go. Before anything could be said however Dash interrupted, shoving Danny inside his locker and began flirting with Paulina. The urge to walk up and slap Dash arose and it took all my strength not to when Dash started acting weird asking if Paulina wanted to see his toenail collection and that he scrubbed his mom's feet. Understandably Paulina gets creeped out and shoos him away.

"Why do I suddenly feel like scrubbing my Mom's feet?" Dash mumbled as he rounded the corner, snapping out of whatever daze he was in when he spotted me and annoyingly approached.

"Hey (y/n) feel like going out with me yet?" He asks with a smirk, pressing his hand against the wall to trap me.

"Still ew, no," I respond with a blank stare and go to push him away when my ghost powers act up and I fly into him and take control. 

I can overshadow people? Cool.

An idea comes to my mind as a certain girl comes into my vision that had a huge crush on Dash for some reason who he detested.

I promise after today I won't abuse my new power like this again.

 I walk up to the girl and make Dash kiss her, excitedly, she grips onto Dash to kiss him back and I fly out of him, letting him deal with the consequences of bullying Danny. Tuning back into Danny and Paulina's discussion I hear them discussing some amulet and peek around the corner to see see it. I squint my eyes to look at the amulet closer, wondering if I haven't seen it before. Danny rambles about it being for her if she agrees to go out with him to the dance and I grit my teeth hearing the obvious lie.

 "Well you are kinda cute and you have great taste in underwear, I'd love to go with you!" She agrees, making me more annoyed. 

"Kinda cute? Is she crazy? Danny is super cute!" I mumble to myself before realizing what I said. "Should probably figure out what I meant by that later..."

"Bye, Danny! See you!" Paulina says goodbye and walks away, and I narrow my eyes at her in a glare as she passes by me.
