My Brother's Keeper: Part 7

"Hey! What's the matter with you kids? You call that a cheer?" Lancer asked before grabbing the pom-poms and started to cheer. "We've got the spirit, yes we do! We've got the spirit how bout you?!" "Okay..." Jazz muttered as everyone gave a glare at Mr. Lancer. Spectra and Bertrand were walking to the auditorium and we were following them. "After we've destroyed everything, you up for a cappuccino?" Bertrand asked and Spectra told him "That's a marvelous idea!" Before they could continue their conversation through Danny and I zapped Bertrand, as he went flying. "I've figured it out finally, you feed on misery don't you?" Danny asked Spectra as she adjusted her glasses asking us "I'm sorry, can I help you two?" I shake my head no and cross my arms as I tell her "No we're sure you can't, you can't help anyone except yourself." She made a grab for us but we flew over her as Danny continued.

"You find that one thing that a kid is most afraid of, their future, their looks, their confidence..." "And you pick at it and pick at it while your snippy little ghost assistant feeds on it." I finish with a glare at Spectra and pointing at Bertrand as he shouts hey to us. Spectra started to applaud us as she told us "Very good, but I fear you missed a few details!" She let her true form out: a black figure like a shadow with glowing red eyes. 

Spectra started to charge at us as Bertrand attacked Danny and Spectra grabbed me, throwing me in the direction the boys went. At the assembly, Jazz was giving her speech as she explained what the dominoes represented. Everyone was quiet so Mr. Lancer began to shout before he started the domino chain.

The clock was ticking as we landed outside and Bertrand pinned Danny to a tree, and Spectra had pinned me to the ground. "You thought you were going to stop us? You?! Your just a frightened little kid!" Bertrand went to slash Danny but he just phased through the tree. Spectra started to use her powers to weaken me but with my quick wits, I kicked her off me and into Bertrand as Danny then punched the two into the air.

 Suddenly out of nowhere Spectra had somehow gotten behind us as she grabbed us and pulled us to the window. "Let go of us!" We shouted, struggling to free ourselves. "Why would I do that? Your doubt, your misery, it's delicious! And the best part is, as soon as that silly speech is over and that last domino falls and the sparklers vaporize the speaker, we'll leave you two here to take the blame and by the time I'm done with you two, you'll be sure it was all your fault!" 

Danny and I started to grit our teeth but soon I heard Danny speak up. "Man I am so tired of you dumping on us, and I am so tired of dumping on myself. Jazz never did that, even when I was mad at her and I won't let her DOWN!" Danny shouts as he shoves Spectra off of us and I can't help but widen my eyes at the sudden fire that had seemed to ignite in him.

"Bertrand! Sick em!"  Spectra shouts as Bertrand flew out through the wall and chases after us turning into a ninja. He pulls out nunchucks as we gave a sigh in annoyance frowning. "We so do not have time for this," I mutter as Danny takes the Fenton Thermos off his back and sucks Bertrand in it. We give a smirk to Spectra and Danny shakes the thermos as I blankly say "Your turn." "You're through!" Spectra shouted in anger as she chased us. We fly over her and Danny grabs the end of her tail shouting "And you're done telling us what to do!" He throws her into the dumpster as it shuts. Grabbing Danny's sleeve and tugging him towards the school I shout "Jazz!" We race into the auditorium as the last domino falls on the button and the 'sparklers' start to form a ray. We grabbed Jazz in the nick of time turning her invisible and intangible, as the podium is destroyed. We fly outside of the storage closet and set Jazz down as she stares at us in shock.

We give her a small smile before Spectra pulls us into the storage room, slamming us into the wall as she states "Look at you two-" I cut her off as I pull out the thermos but she slaps it out of my hands as she continues. "What are you two? Ghosts trying to fit in with humans? Or some creepy little children with creepy little powers?" Jazz raced into the storage room and watched with a glare as Spectra laughed at us, her powers making us weak.

 "Both! Uh..nether I don't know!" Danny shouted as she shouted back "You're a freak! Not a ghost, not a boy or girl, who cares for a thing like you?" Rage filled within me as I stood up my gaze darkening as I tell her "We're neither of the options you gave us and we care for each other, Danny is my best friend and I don't appreciate you dumping on him! Just because we have these powers doesn't change the fact that we use them for good which qualifies as making us humans no matter which way you put it, we're better than you in the Ghost Zone or here on Earth."

 Danny looked up at me with shock, gratitude, and happiness that I know what he's going through washes over him, along with a not so new feeling he's felt before but doesn't really understand when Jazz cut into the conversation.

 "Excuse me? I don't know these kids but I hope it's okay if they get a second opinion." She brings out the Ghost Peeler and turned it on as the suit starts to form around her body. Smirking I blast Spectra into the Peeler's ray that Jazz shot and I tell her "Hey Spectra guess what? Your fired." We watched as her form started to peel away until she was nothing but an old lady. "Talk about having nothing within." Danny said as I helped him up as she shouted "Ah! I'm nothing without my youth!" 

Grabbing the thermos I open the lid and watch as she gets sucked in. "Hey, it worked! But it's still weird." Jazz exclaimed as the Fenton Peeler retracted off of her. She walked over to us with a smile as we tried to say something but Jazz saw our distress and so she faked being scared.

 "Ah! Ghosts! You'd better go." She ran off and out of nowhere, I feel Danny hug me. "Danny?" "Thank you, for standing up for me, I couldn't ask for a better friend or partner." I tousel his hair before leaving as I tell him "Anytime, see ya next time." I fly back into the auditorium and change back waiting for Danny but what I didn't know was when I left he sighed in happiness with his cheeks dusted with a shade of pink as he ran into boxes before flying back to the auditorium as Jazz watched mumbling "They can tell me when they're ready."

 Lancer found Jazz and brought her back to the auditorium explaining what happened. Everyone was cheering for her as Lancer said "Everybody's mood is lifted, as though some gloomy relevance has been shooed away. Your disappearing act worked marvelously, they've got their spirit back." 

Jazz noticed us waving at her and she waved back as she told Lancer "They're not the only one's Mr. Lancer, they're not the only ones." Jazz watched through her window that night as Danny and I were flying around doing flips and spins as we flew across the sky.
