Parental Bonding: Part 7

"Danny I've got her!" I hear Sam whisper into the walkie-talkie, Danny's voice soon ringing back.

"Stay on her I'm on my way and Sam don't make her angry."

I catch up with Sam and ask "Trying to get the amulet back?"

She nods and we enter to see Paulina checking her make-up. 

"Hey, Paulina did I mention earlier that's a nice dress?" I asked when Paulina turned around and responded bitterly.

"Yes and it goes so nicely with your amulet, don't you think Sam?" 

"My amulet? That's not my—" Sam started to protest when I grabbed her shoulder and nodded at her as she quickly picked up what was going on. "Right...Listen my grandma gave me that amulet and—" 

Paulina cut her off quickly stating, "Forget it, sweetie, I'm not giving up this trinket or your little boyfriend Danny."

 I felt my hands clutch into fists and just as I was about to yell at her Sam stated, "My boyfriend? Ha, and they say pretty girls can't be funny. Danny is not my boyfriend."

"He's not?" Paulina blinked in confusion.

"He's my best friend maybe that's why I was so hard on you. I didn't mean to call you shallow."

"What a bummer. I only agreed to go out with him because I thought I was stealing him from you. Here take your crummy amulet, I'm going back inside to dump your dorky friend."

Paulina put the amulet on Sam and started walking away Sam and I glared at her when I noticed Sam beginning to turn blue. Remembering Danny's warning not to make Paulina mad I grabbed Sam's shoulder and tried to calm her down but it was too late.

Sam turned into the dragon as she screamed, "SHALLOW LITTLE WITCH!" 

Paulina saw the dragon and fainted as I was knocked into a stall.

 "Paulina? Sam?"

I heard Danny call out as he walked into the now-destroyed bathroom. I stumble out of the stall, clutching my head and he rushes to help me, asking if I was ok. 

Nodding I point in the direction of the dragon and mumble to him, "Sam and...Paulina." 

Leading me to the exit he told me, "Find somewhere safe I'll take care of this."

I watch as he heads back into the bathroom and I can't help but wonder if he's crazy. There was no way I was letting him fight Sam alone, just as I peeked into the bathroom I watched as Danny went ghost and chased the dragon.

 "Wait Danny Fenton is Danny Phantom?" I asked myself before realizing the connections, face-palming myself, went ghost, and chased after Danny. 

As soon as I caught up I saw Danny kick Sam onto the football field. Danny landed a few feet away from the dragon.

 "Take it easy Paulina, you don't want to hurt Sam!"  

Landing next to him I tap Danny on the shoulder and point to Paulina. "Uh, Danny?"

 Looking at Paulina Danny asked, "Paulina?" His attention turns to Sam. "Sam?"

"SHALLOW GIRL!" 

 "Yep, that's Sam," We both mutter in unison.

Quickly we turned intangible when Sam started breathing fire at us.

"Woah Sam two words: Breath mints," Danny remarks before flying up to pull Paulina out of Sam's grasp.
