『 Thirty-four 』

"You guys can come out now." Beomgyu announced, looking at his far left. Surprisingly, out came the two boys with devious grins plastered on their faces.

Well shit- did they see me? Am I busted?

"Yah Soojin! We were so worried when you suddenly disappeared in the crowd!" Kai exclaimed, running up to the girl. He pulled her into a sudden embrace which shocked her but she quickly hugged him back.

Beomgyu couldn't help but look away from them for some reason.

"Yeah, we saw you one minute and then the next you just vanished!" Taehyun added.

"Oh, well you know the place was pretty crowded and I kinda got lost among the people." Haeun chuckled nervously, keeping her injured hand hidden from the eyes of her friends.

"So..where's this cafe you were talking about?"

Haeun's eyes widened as she entered the cute little cafe with Beomgyu and the others. It was the exact same cafe where she met the girl that allowed her to take her place as Beomgyu's personal servant.

I don't think this is a good idea...no no no. I can sense that something bad is about to happen!

"What's with the frown? You don't like it here?" Kai asked her privately, lightly nudging her shoulder to attain her attention.

"Uh- no no that's not it! The cafe is really calming and..." The girl stopped midway, jaw slightly lowered in disbelief as her eyes trailed over to the girl that was sitting in a corner, sipping on a drink.

Oh shit, it's her! Of course it's her! If she sees me I'm fucked!

Haeun slowly backed away from the girl's line of sight, hiding herself behind Taehyun who was partially confused. Kai was staring at her, quietly giggling at her unprecedented behaviour.

"What's wrong? You didn't finish your sentence." Kai commented plainly, bumping shoulders with the girl to snap her out of her temporary trance.

"There's no time for that I gotta-"

"Oh my god, hey-!"

I'm doomed.

Haeun snapped her head up, eyes locking with the girl standing in front of her with a smile on her face. Back then, Haeun had told the girl a fake name as well and if the real Soojin called her that name in front of Kai and the others, surely they'd be confused.

"Yeji-"

"AHEM! Yes, sorry what?"

"Aren't you the girl who took my-"

"NO. I mean...I'm not the girl who you're looking for. I'm sorry but I don't know you." Haeun quickly tried to dismiss the girl but she kept saying that she knew Haeun. The assassin was afraid of the fact that Beomgyu would now find this somewhat suspicious after this weird encounter.

Haeun was trying to silently signal to her that there were people beside her who she should be worrying about but the girl was too caught up questioning the assassin.

"Do you know her? Is that your friend?" Beomgyu finally spoke up, moving away from the counter after ordering whatever he had to for the group.

"Oh sh- Greetings your highness!" The real Soojin bowed, eyes widening as they were locked on the tall figure of the Prince.

"NO, I don't know her! She's probably mistaking me for someone else-!" Haeun slithered her way behind the boys, hiding her figure behind Beomgyu. She gripped onto the flap of his sleeve, peeking over his arm to look at the girl who was already looking at her with raised brows.

"Well Soojin-"

"Yes?"

There was silence among the group after two yes' were heard. Beomgyu's head shot in the direction behind him to Haeun and Kai's head snapped in the direction of the other girl.

Haeun glared at Soojin motioning for her to realize the true situation they were currently in.

"Ah, sorry I heard Soomin! Let me introduce myself. I'm Jo Soomin."

A sigh of relief left Haeun's lips due to the fact that Soojin had finally caught on. The assassin kept her figure hidden behind Beomgyu who couldn't help but feel a little tense due to how close she was to him. He was simply trying not to smile at her actions.

"I'm sorry if I have been an inconvenience to you and your companions your highness!" Soomin bowed politely. Beomgyu quickly brushed it off saying there was no need for her to apologize and that caught the girl off guard. She wasn't expecting the prince to be so kind after hearing that he was just a cold, rude prick.

I shouldn't have given up my job to her...Ah look at how handsome all of them are! And Beomgyu...he even looks better face to face! Wasted opportunity!

"Well- sorry about that. I guess I mistook her for someone else. Sorry for the bother everyone." Soomin bowed, exiting the cafe with a downed expression.

Kai led Haeun to a seat at the corner of the cafe. He was rather silent than usual and Haeun could tell something was on his mind. Beomgyu and Taehyun were getting snacks whilst arguing with the barista because she refused to let them pay since they were both royalty.

"Soojin..." Kai started off dully, fiddling with his fingers. The girl hummed in response, trying to not show that she was nervous about what he was going to ask her. She kinda knew what he was going to ask since he had been with her when the real Soojin called her Yeji and kept insisting that she knew her.

"T-That girl...I think I've seen her before."

"You have?"

"Yeah...I think I saw her on one of the applicant's form. Her name doesn't ring a bell though...Jo Soomin? I'm really bad at remembering stuff-" Kai laughed, bitterly.

Thank goodness he has short term memory loss like I do! I would have been toast if he pieced together this puzzle.

"Well..it doesn't matter now, right? Hahaha..." Haeun chuckled nervously, slouching back in the chair which was by the window of the cafe.

"Just let us pay for it..." Beomgyu stated, slightly annoyed.

"Your highness I'm afraid I can't do that to you-"

"We just want to pay for the things we bought!" The prince suddenly exclaimed loudly, sighing in sheer irritation. He hated when he was treated differently because he was a royal. He wanted to be treated like everyone else but the stupid title he had kept deterring that from happening.

"Okay grumpy boy...let's go!" Haeun and Kai had quickly made their way over to the two distressed royals. The girl grabbed onto Beomgyu's hand, keeping him right beside her and she took the money from him.

"Keep the change." Haeun winked at the female barista before dragging the prince outside with her. Kai and Taehyun followed behind in silence, slightly amazed at Haeun's way of getting to people.

"Isn't she so cool?" Kai mumbled to Taehyun who nodded and smiled in response.

"Why wouldn't she just accept the money?"

"Becauseeeeee you're The Choi Beomgyu. You can't get mad at her for acting the way she did, she was just trying to be respectful." Haeun explained calmly to Beomgyu as they walked together. Haeun's arms were interlocked with Beomgyu while they continued to walk and neither of them seemed to have a problem with the closing distance between them.

"You're right..", Beomgyu sighed, bowing his head down to the floor.

"Good, now where to next?" -Haeun

"Wherever you want to." -Beomgyu
