Chapter 15: Brown Bird

Cora and Pearl appeared right before my eyes.

I already accepted that I'd be facing this journey alone, but looking at these priestesses in front of me, I knew that they have already decided their fate with me.

Who would have thought that these priestesses are connected with Goddess Eda? Cora was sent to Asta Wellingzon— the world of King Tiffon, and Pearl was sent to the Human World. They were fated to guide every Gazellian mate, and it started from Kalla to Naha.

At ngayon ay kasama ko na silang dalawa sa isang paglalakbay.

"How are you, Claret?" tanong ni Cora.

The last time I saw them was during King Dastan's coronation, together with Goddess Eda— the ancient goddess from the history of the seven high thrones.

Goddess Eda could have been just a part of written history right now— a goddess existed from ancient books and stories from old vampires, werewolves, mermaids, demons, angels, and other creatures, but because of greed she was forced to live until this lifetime.

"She sent you here," I said weakly.

They nodded.

I wanted to ask them about Goddess Eda, but I know that they didn't come here to tell me about their mother. Sana'y nasa mabuti siyang kalagayan.

I heaved a deep sigh. "I will not decline your offered help."

"You're not allowed to decline, Claret," agad na sagot ni Cora.

"We have to go here," tipid na sabi ni Pearl. May hawak siyang lumang mapa at kapwa na kami dumungaw roon ni Cora.

I was not surprised that both of them were already aware of my situation. And if we're really dealing with another goddess, Cora, and Pearl are the best companions that I should have.

When I first arrived in this world I thought that the goddesses were only involved with the blue fire and its famous prophecy, but I was wrong. They played a very critical role in the real history of Nemetio Spiran. And as time passed by with the discovery of the other worlds— Asta Wellinzon and Fevia Attero, I couldn't help but think about those other worlds.

How big was Deeseyadah's manipulation if they have already created a huge damage in Nemetio Spiran?

"Let's go," Cora said.

She pulled a small whistle and blew it. We didn't wait for too long when the sky started to darken, at first I thought it was the dark clouds, but when I heard the loud screeching sound of a bird, I realized that it wasn't the changing weather.

My hood fell down, as my tied hair swayed with the strong winds and dust of the sand, stinging my eyes.

The enormous beautiful brown bird landed on the ground. I couldn't help but admire it as we climbed up behind its back. Parsua Sartorias has tons of battle crows, looking strong and powerful, but they didn't have as beautiful as this bird.

When we were all settled, the bird soared up and high.

I glanced at Cora and Pearl. If we were in a different situation, I might have started a conversation with them, but I couldn't find the strength to do it right now.

I failed to protect her.
