Chapter 17: Last message

Caleb's disappearance made our plans cripple into pieces, from Rosh's mission to follow him, Seth's own mission in his empire, and as even Blair's. They had those missions that everyone thought would always be their priority.

"I'll finish this mission as soon as possible," said Seth.

"Me too," Blair added.

"I know that our individual mission is more important. This is a personal—" Seth cut me off.

"We're already involved, Zen.

That was the last time I had a conversation with them until we came to Mudelior. When we arrived at the Empire of Mudelior and as we witnessed through letters and stoned basin the situation between Parsua Sartorias and Fevia Attero, I realized that it was the right decision.

He has a lot on his plate, that he'd be affected again by my own selfishness.

The dim light of the lamp illuminated the silky skin of my wife and daughter.

I smiled. I carefully pulled the chair to avoid the noise and sat in front of them. To be honest, I never thought of having my own family. When Parsua Sartorias loathed me for being the second prince— the cursed royalty with devastating power, I never dreamt of my life as happy and satisfying as right now.

When my hands were chained, all I wanted was to be free with the woman who'd love me for who I am, but this lifetime gave me more than that— this life gave me Divina, and she's never been tired of telling me how much she loves me as her father.

I sighed.

I leaned my back on the winged chair and my nape on the headrest. I stared at the dark ceiling, thinking about how grateful this life could be, giving me two beautiful goddesses who would love me for who I am. I am just a selfish prince who thinks of himself.

Nanatili akong nakatitig kina Claret at Divina. I tried to caress their beautiful faces, but I stopped myself in midair and just satisfied myself by looking at them.

"Good morning, Papa! Why didn't you sleep on our bed?" bungad sa akin ni Divina. Agad siyang kumalong sa akin.

I chuckled. I lazily leaned my elbow on the armrest and I sleepily placed my chin on it. "Hmm. . . I didn't notice."

"Zen, don't overworked yourself."

"It's okay."

I accepted the tea and took a sip. I looked outside the window, thinking about my next post. I'll accompany the three more units and their priestesses to the designated station. It's really good that Kreios approved of my military assistance.
