Chapter 20: The painting

"The safest place for us right now is inside this forest," Seth announced.

Seth's hands were on his waist as he towered over us like a leader. He was standing atop a huge rock while Rosh, Blair, and I were sitting on the ground, gazing absentmindedly at him.

"Before we exit this forest, we should at least train to use our powers again!"

Rosh wiped the tears on his cheeks but got terrified when he felt the fresh cut on his face. "I am dying. . ."

Blair almost buried himself on the ground while blaming himself. "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have brought you to that place."

I couldn't help but get scared with our situation, because as long as we were trapped inside this body, it's not just our powers, but our emotions are getting mixed up.

What if this silly curse made us forget what we really are? What if we suddenly forget that we're literally adults? What if we wake up with the thoughts that we were just abandoned poor vampire kids?

Seth kept talking about inspirational quotes from whatever books he had read, but I stood up and immediately went in front of Rosh and Blair. I harshly pulled their collars and made them look into my eyes.

"We are not poor vampire kids! Always remember that! We're here to find my daughter. I have a wife and you two are waiting for your mates! Stop acting like a child!"

Tinabig ni Rosh ang kamay ko sa kanya, habang si Blair ay marahang tinanggal ang kamay ko bago nag-iwas ng tingin sa akin.

"I will not forget that! Do you think being emotional with this face is childish? My face is my treasure!"

"I know that I am an adult."

Bumaba na si Seth mula sa mataas na bato na nasa harapan namin. "Nakikinig ba kayo sa akin tatlo?"

I grimaced. "We're tired of your inspirational quotes, Seth."

"But I'll agree with his plan, I think we better train inside this forest to regain a little bit of our power. If by this age, we haven't found our powers, at least, we already had the knowledge about it right now." Blair said.

Kusa naming inilabas ang aming mga palad. Rosh tried to summon another flower, but it's another rosebud. Iritado niya ulit iyong itinapon at ilang beses tinapaktapakan sa lupa.

I shook my head when I couldn't even form an ice cube on my palm. Even Seth and Blair were failures.

"If we can't really use our powers, how about in physical?" muling tanong ni Seth.

Kapwa kami napatingin sa kalangitang apat, habang inalala ang engkuwentro namin sa mga malalaking bata sa pamilihan. Sabay umiling sina Seth at Blair.

"They're quite bigger than us! Those brats! Huwag silang magpapakita sa akin sa sandaling bumalik ako sa normal," gigil na sabi ni Rosh.

"How about a sword? We can use weapons," sabi ni Blair.

"Do you have a choice?" sagot ni Rosh.

"But how can we buy swords or any weapons if we can't have our own money?" tanong ko.

Sabay-sabay kaming napabuntonghininga.

"Actually, there's a way to it," Seth said hesitantly while scratching his cheek.

"And that way is? I told you that we couldn't let anyone from Parsua discover our situation," I replied.

"We have to work."
