I made my way to narcissas room as tradition goes and to get ready for the ball.
"Are you ready?" She smiled holding out two glasses of Prosecco.
"Yeah I guess" I replied putting on a fake smile.
She handed me a glass and I swallowed the whole thing. I would take anything at the moment to calm my nerves.
"You might want to slow down" she laughed as she gently handed me my dress.
I got changed and folded my clothes.
I caught a glance of myself in the mirror.
I looked different. It could be the dress, but it could also be the lack of sunlight and being confined to a single room for over a month.
I opened the door to a gleaming narcissa.
"You truly do look incredible y/n"
"Thanks" I blushed looking down.
I moved to the chair in-front of her and sat down.
" you've grown up so much y/n sometimes I forget your still a kid"
"But I guess you didn't have much of a choice"
Her face soften into a melancholy stare."This year has been a lot" I smiled slightly.
"But dracos been trying to help" my comment brought back her soft smile.
" speaking of -we should probably hurry up he'll probably be waiting"
She waved her wand and my hair elegantly folded into a pretty pattern.
I closed my eyes as she flicked her wand once again and opened them to see myself fully done up.
"Perfect" she projected her infectious smile in addition to a mischievous wink.
She guided me to the door.
" I'll see you soon""Thank you narcissa for everything"
I walked alone to my room where I found the door was sightly ajar.
"Draco I am your aunt and you will do well to remember that"
"Maybe if you just showed her some decency-" he argued back in anger.
"She doesn't deserve it...You know deep down that if she had a choice right now she would choose to run"
"Fair enough with the way you've treated her"
" don't let her distract you Draco!"
"Get out!" He growled.
"Excuse you"
"Get out. Y/n's coming and I don't want you near her anymore"
"She's already here, aren't you my dear?" I could feel her smirk.
I stepped into the room. What else could I do ?
"I was just about to knock" I mumbled.
" of course - I'll see you at the party Draco"
She walked straight passed me with her trademark smirk.
"I really was going to knock"
"It's ok" he's said holding back a smile.
"What?" I couldn't help the small subtle smile that creeped on my face.
" nothing - did you pick the dress?"
" no your mum did ? She thought it looked nice"
" and you disagree?" He asked in response to the face I made.
