"Help me." Colby begged Sam, his eyes wide with actual fear.

"What are you talking about giving me your blood! What the fuck happened while I was knocked out? Why would I have to take your blood? That's just so...Ugh.."

I had gotten upset and shuffled off of his lap back onto the bed. Everything got blurry again and I squeezed my eyes closed.

I put my hand to my head, keeping my eyes closed.

"Can someone just please tell me what the fuck is going on? PLEASE!"

I heard Colby sigh and I opened my eyes. The random girl was kneeling down beside the bed, cramming things into a book bag.

"And who the fuck are you?" I asked, staring down at her.

She lifted her head, her eyes meeting mine.

"Hey, I'm Melanie. I helped wake you up."

I felt my forehead crease in confusion. "How did you do that? How did I wake up?" I looked back to Colby. "Why do I never know anything?? This is driving me crazy!" I exclaimed, grabbing my head with both hands.

I felt his hand on the back of my head, stroking through my hair, and I looked back up to meet his gaze.

"I don't want to upset you, but if you think you're strong enough, and Melanie agrees that you are, then I'll tell you. Everything."

I gulped, feeling kind of terrified at what he might say, but I nodded.

He looked over to the girl, just as I did.

"Melanie, what do you think? Is she strong enough to know the truth?"

The girl smiled sweetly at him, and I felt myself tense up, jealousy starting to climb up my back.

What was that about? All she did was smile at him. Jesus Christ Chloe, calm yourself down.

I took a deep breath and waited for her answer.

"I don't see why not. It may even trigger some more memories since her brain seems to be open right now. Just maybe not too much at one time?"

He looked at her exasperatedly. "How the fuck am I not going to tell her too much at one time? It all rolls together and she won't stop asking fucking questions! I can't just tell her one huge thing that rolls into another huge thing!" He ran his hand through hair in annoyance.

"I'll stop asking questions." I said softly, and watched his eyes snap back to mine.

"What? No you won't. That's not who you are. You have to know everything."

"Well, if she doesn't want to go into another coma, then she might have to. I'm not sure that she can handle it all at once. Little doses work best, especially with such huge...proclamations." The girl replied arrogantly.

I wasn't sure if I liked her or not. Colby glared at her for a second then looked back to me.

"Okay. Little doses. You're just going to deal with not knowing everything for a little while. Deal?" I nodded, feeling a little fear and excitement course through me. "Melanie is a witch. She performed a ritual that helped wake you up. Your brain revolted on itself, shutting down when your memories kept trying to come back. That usually doesn't happen with how they were taken away. But you're different. I don't know why."

I swallowed hard, staring into his blue eyes. I could tell that he was gauging my reaction to what he had just said.

"Okay, so a witch." I replied, glancing over to the girl.

She grinned at me again, and gave me a little wave.

"At your service."

I chewed my bottom lip, watching her for a moment, then looked back to Colby. "Okay...I can deal with that.I know that there are real witches in the world. Why did I need a witch to wake me up though? What happened to me?"

Now he was glaring at me. "You said you wouldn't ask questions. That didn't last long."

I bit my lip and gave him a small smile. "Sorry." I whispered.

"Okay, well, she's awake and we need to get back to my Coven, yeah?" The witch said, standing up.

"Right now?" Colby asked. "She just woke up! Don't I get a minute?"

Melanie shook her head. "No, you don't. Others may not have that long."

Sam and Colby looked at each other then back to her.

"Fine. Go outside with Sam. I'll be there in a second."

She nodded and walked over to Sam.

"Take your time brother. Just not too long." Sam said as they walked out the door.

Colby looked back to me and sighed, hanging his head.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"No questions." He growled out, looking back up at me.

I made a face at him.

"This is going to be harder than I anticipated." I said wryly.

"Knew it would be." He smirked.

I rolled my eyes.

"You feeling okay? This shouldn't take long and then I'll be right back home, with you."

I nodded. "I feel fine now. What about my job though? I'm fired, aren't I? Oh my God, my first real break with the best job ever and I go into a fucking coma! The universe is against me." I groaned out.

"Your job is fine. I...spoke with your boss. You can take a few more days to rest and then go back. No big deal. He was very...compliant with the situation. I told him you had the flu."

I realized that I was chewing on my thumb nail as I stared at him, and removed my hand from my mouth. "Why does that sound familiar?"

He shook his head. "No questions. I'll be back soon. I love you Chloe Daniels. You don't have to say it back but I'm going to be telling you all the time now. Just so you know. I don't care if you remember me. You will love me again. You don't have a choice."

Before I could say anything, Prissy jumped up onto the bed, meowing like crazy and crawled into my lap, raising up so that she could rub into my chin. "Hey baby! Aw, that's my sweet girl. Did you miss Momma?"

Colby chuckled and ran his hand over her back, before standing up. "I'll be back soon. I love you."
