"Shut up Sam." Colby said, turning his head towards him.

Sam just smiled, and wrapped his arm around Katrina's waist.

"Can I...?" Elias was looking at Colby questioningly, motioning his hand towards me.

Colby glared at him for a second but then nodded curtly.

"Chloe, I'm so sorry. I don't ever expect you to forgive me for violating you in that way. I did what I had to do for me and for Jade. I didn't want to do it. You have to believe me. I-"

I held my hand up and smiled at him.

"I believe you. I remember you apologizing to me before you even compelled me. I know why you did it and I understand. I even forgive you. Everything worked out for us. Now we just need to make sure that everything works out for you."

Elias' mouth dropped open, a look that would have been comical in any other situation, on his face.

"Huh?" Colby blurted out.

I turned my head to look at him.

"What?"

"You forgive him? How can you? After everything that we've been through! And then you actually want to help him? I don't understand."

I placed my hand on Colby's cheek, letting my thumb run over his skin. "Of course I forgive him. He's your friend. Your family. It's over. She ordered him to kill me. Isn't that what you told me? But instead, he did what he could to protect me, even at the risk of them hurting or killing Jade. Would you have done that for Jade? Or just killed her, if it meant that I would stay safe?" Colby didn't answer me, the confused look still on his face. "He did what he could and I'm grateful to him for that. Now he's come to the only family he knows for help and that's what we're gonna do. I'm giving the orders right now Brock. You're going to get the others and work out a plan to get Jade back to Elias. It's the right thing to do."

He chewed his bottom lip while Elias, Sam, and Kat all just looked at me with bewildered expressions, waiting to see what would happen next.

"Okay." He sighed out. "Okay, we'll do it."

I smiled so big, my cheeks actually hurt. "You will?" I asked.

I wasn't sure that he actually would. I honestly felt like I was about to start another argument, so I didn't expect him to agree so quickly.

"You will?" Elias asked, just as bewildered.

Colby looked at him, and nodded.

"I will. She's right. As much as I hate to admit it sometimes, she usually is. I'll call Aza and see if he can tell me anything about who ratted you out and what they may have said. He'll probably lie, but it's worth a shot. I'll just tell him that I have unfinished business and I need to handle it with you. He loves chaos inside other clans so he may tell me what he knows." Colby shrugged, then froze as Elias jumped from his stood and threw his arms around Colby's neck, while I was still sitting in his lap.

I moved to the side quickly, so that my own neck didn't get caught in the bone crushing squeeze that Colby's was in. Colby looked at me awkwardly, then patted Elias on the back a couple of times.

"Okay, that's enough." He replied.

Elias backed away and sat back down, looking embarrassed.

"This doesn't change anything. I know that you did what you did for good reason, and I know that you tried to save Chloe as much as possible, but you have to understand that she is my reason for living and you almost took that from me forever."

I shook my head and rolled my eyes. "No, he didn't. I had already fallen in love with you again, without remembering you dumbass. We would've just started over. What would you have rather had? Me dead, or just a fresh start?"

He looked at me, his eyes showing that he was done with me talking. "Do you ever shut up?"

I cracked a grin at him. "Nope. You already know that."

He rolled his eyes and then smiled. "Either way, it's gonna take some time to forgive you. For now, you are back in the clan."

"Oh my God, Colby, thank you so much!" Elias rushed out the words, and Colby held his hand up to stop him.

"On a probationary basis. If you so much as fuck up one little time, I'm done with you. Understood?"

Elias nodded, but his smile was genuine. He looked at me and winked. I smiled, letting out a soft laugh.

"You're soft." I whispered in Colby's ear.

He glanced at me and growled, while Sam started laughing.

"What's so funny?" Kat asked.

Sam shook his head.

"Nothing. Tell you later." She cocked her eyebrow at him, but nodded. "So when are we doing this? I kind of don't want anything messing up the Halloween party..." Sam said, twisting his lips to one side.

Colby laughed.

"Yeah, can't mess up a good party. Not like we don't have them all the time."

"We don't actually. Not since..." Sam trailed off, glancing at Elias, then me, before he looked back at Colby.

Colby furrowed his brow.

"Huh. You're right. We'll have to fix that. Okay, let's see what we can do." He patted my leg, signalling me to hop up so I did. "We're going to go to the garage. Wanna join? We'll just be talking business, but you guys are welcome to come sit in."

I looked at Kat, just as she looked at me. "Nah." We replied together.

"We're gonna go plan a party!" I said excitedly.

The guys looked at each other and laughed.

"Okay. Have fun. Money isn't an issue so have fun. Just remember that it'll be humans and vampires." Colby replied.

I rolled my eyes again.

"Well duh. Human." I said, pointing to myself and Kat. "Vampire." I said, pointing to them.

"Smart ass." Colby said, one corner of his mouth turning up.

"You love it." I said.

He leaned down, until his lips were only a breath away from mine. "I do. Very much."
