We lay there for a while, not speaking, just trying to process whatever had just happened. I felt like my actual soul had left my body and connected with Colby's. That gives a whole new meaning to the word One.

When that energy left my body, it felt like another type of energy hit me, connected with me, and it was purely Colby.

I cleared my dry throat.

"Uh Colby?"

"Hmm?" His voice was deeper, like he was almost asleep.

He had his eyes closed, laying on his side, with one arm around my waist. He buried his face into the pillow a little more, then cracked his eyes open, meeting my gaze.

He sighed and propped himself up on his elbow, moving his other hand to my stomach.

"I'm not sure. Never felt anything like that. It was amazing...but kind of weird. Like a part of me left, but then I felt you, and...gonna sound stupid but I guess like my soul was complete. Like something cleansed me, took all of the dark parts away, and then filled them with you."

Did our souls actually connect?

Was that even possible?

Did I make that happen?

What did it mean?

Okay, now my brain was rambling.

"What if I told you that I felt the same thing? Like our souls connected and then when it was over, like a piece of you was inside of me."

He smirked, a little cocky grin. "Well, technically a piece of me was inside of you." He replied, as he started to trace something on my bare stomach.

My muscles twitched as he ran his nails over my skin.

"Shut up, you perv. You know what I mean." I laughed out, as he pinched my side, making me jerk.

His smile faded and he got a serious look in his beautiful baby blues.

"Yeah Chloe, I know what you mean. I felt it too. I didn't know anything like this was possible, but I'm finding out that literally anything is possible when it comes to you." His eyebrows furrowed as he stared at me.

He leaned closer, and rose above me a little.

"You are something special, something different."

I wasn't sure I liked that, but I was having a hard time breathing as he hovered over me like this. I kept staring at his lips only a couple of inches from mine, wanting him to kiss me.

"So I'm weird then?" I breathed out, glancing up to his eyes for a second before my gaze went back to his mouth.

He laughed a little.

"We're all a little weird Chloe. But that's what makes us special. You though. You're extra special."

I rolled my eyes, coming out of my obsession with his lips for a moment. "Because I'm a vampire witch. Blah, blah, blah, I know. Why can't I just be me?"

I turned my head staring at the wall so that I wouldn't be distracted with how close he was to me. I know that I'm supposed to be this amazing, powerful, unique creature that everyone was befuddled by...but I didn't want Colby to think of me like that. I felt his hand move, then his fingers place against my jaw as he forced my face to turn back to him.

"No baby, not because you're a vampire witch. Yeah, that's pretty cool. In fact, it's fucking awesome. But that's not why you're special to me. You're special to me because you made me see that life was still worth living. That there may be a purpose to all of this after all. That I am still capable of love and of being loved. That is why you're special. The extra power stuff...well, that's just an added bonus. Plus, the sex is just," He put his fingertips to the side of his head then brought them away, spreading them out. "Mind blowing."

I smiled a little and rolled my eyes, playing off the fact that my heart wanted to explode inside of my chest from the overload of emotion that was attacking it.

I rolled towards him and put my hand around his neck so that I could play with his hair.

"I love you Colby Brock. Tell me though...how did we go from hating each other to being so obsessed with each other that it probably isn't healthy?"

I raised my eyebrows at him, a small smile on my face. He chuckled and pulled me closer to him, pressing a light kiss to my lips.

"I don't think I ever hated you. I think that I was pissed because I wanted you so badly and I didn't understand why...and you always wanted me. Saw it in your eyes the first time you looked at me." He smirked again, one of his dimples indenting his cheek.

"I couldn't stand you." I replied, knowing that he was telling the truth.

I had always wanted him, even if I couldn't stand him.

"You were an asshole."

He nodded. "I was...but you were a bitch. We evened each other out." His head cocked to the side. "You're not feeling anything from my venom?"

I jerked my head back a little in realization. I brought my hand down from his hair and flexed it, looking at it like that would tell me something.

"I guess not. That's weird. I just feel....really strong, and..." I met his gaze again. "Really in love."

He grinned, that big beautiful smile that melts my heart and kissed me hard, exploring my mouth with his. After a moment, he pulled back.

"Damn it." He growled.

"What?" I asked.

He threw the covers back, then he was standing by the bed, pants already on, with no shirt.

"Everyone is home. Sam is-"

There was a knock on the door.

Colby pointed at it.

"There. Hold on a sec."

He tossed me a shirt, then a pair of joggers from the drawer. I put them on as quickly as I could, then ran my fingers through the mess on my head, as I sat back down on the bed.

Colby was watching me and smiled when I met his gaze.

"You look beautiful."

I blushed and motioned to the door. "Come in Sam." I replied.

Sam opened the door and smiled at me, then looked at Colby.
