The rest of the night, Colby told me about some of the sweet times that we had, as well as some of the bad ones. He made me promise that I would tell him if my head started hurting or I felt weird. It was so weird listening to him describe things that happened in my life, that I had no recollection of.

Like the time he stayed over at my apartment, and we watched movies. Or how Prissy reacted to him when she first met him, before she fell absolutely head over heels in love with him. She stayed on his chest most of the night, enjoying the feeling of his fingers running through her fur.

Colby and I stayed curled up in the bed, his arm around me, my head laying on his chest next to that damn cat. I was beginning to think I had competition. He also told me about our fights, especially the big one that we had here at his house...and that I kissed some guy.

One of his friends apparently.

"Sorry." I mumbled out, hiding my face in his side.

He chuckled a little, and twisted my hair around his finger.

"You weren't at the time...and I probably deserved it. I wasn't used to being in a relationship, and there were things that I needed to work on. Didn't realize that certain things bothered you as much as they did."

I lifted my head to look at him. "You know about my past?"

He nodded, biting his lip. "Yeah, I do." He growled out. "Honestly, if you wouldn't mind, I'd just go kill the asshole and be done with it."

He was dead serious. I could see it in his eyes, and it sent chills down my back.

"Um, no, we aren't going to do that." I replied.

He looked to the ceiling and then back to me.

"I know...but doesn't stop me from wanting to seriously hurt him the way he hurt you."

Oh my God, my heart.

Why was it so sweet that he legit wanted to kill someone for me?

"So you haven't had any more flashes or anything? No headaches?" He asked, rubbing my back softly.

"No, unfortunately. It's killing me. I'm so sick of waiting. I feel like it's done. Like it's not coming back. I've got all I'm going to get." I sighed heavily. "Wait." I said, sitting up, and looking down at him. "What about that ritual thing that Kat was telling me about? You guys are friends with witches or whatever, so there must be something that you or they can do to help me!"

Colby sat up too, looking apprehensive.

Prissy meowed at him, and jumped down off of the bed.

"Your memories are coming back Chloe. We don't need to do that anymore. Just be patient."

"UGH, Colby can't you see that this is driving me crazy? I don't have patience. You should know that if you know me as well as you say you do."

He sighed, and dragged his hand through his hair. "I know you don't...but you only just woke up. You have to give it a little time, right? Just try? For me?"

Oh damn him, that wasn't fair. He was looking at me with such intensity, and love...

"Fiiiine." I dragged out. "But if nothing has happened in two weeks, I want you to tell me the other alternative." I pointed my finger at him, threateningly.

He just grinned that beautiful grin, and pulled me to him.

"Deal."

He pressed his lips to mine, making my heart race, and my skin flush. His fingers trailed down the bare skin of my arms, then around to my lower back.

Suddenly, he broke the kiss and I had to take a moment to catch my breath.

"Um, I'll be right back."

He scrambled off the bed, heading towards the door.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked, still breathless.

"Downstairs. Be right back. Stay here."

He closed the door behind him, and I just sat there staring at it for a minute. Then I decided to go see what he was up to. Yes, I know, I promised to take baby steps, and not question anything.

Technically, I wasn't questioning anything. I was just maybe, accidentally, slipping up on whatever the hell it was that he was keeping from me. I crept quickly but quietly out the door and down the stairs.

I didn't hear anything besides the low thump of music coming from the garage.

Why were they all still up? Jesus, it had to be like 5 or 6 in the morning by now. I was starting to get sleepy again.

I didn't see Colby anywhere in the other rooms, so I went to the kitchen and stepped close to the door, trying to listen in.

"Can't deal with being that close. Needed to grab a blood bag or two just in case." I heard Colby's voice speaking.

A blood bag?

What the fuck?

"Um Colby, maybe stop talking. Chloe's at the door." Another voice sounded out, but I couldn't tell which one it was.

Didn't know them well enough yet for that.

"Fuck." Colby growled, then the door came swinging open. "What the hell Chloe? I thought I told you to stay there. I was coming right back."

I felt ashamed for a whole second before the bitch came back. "Yeah well, I'm not a fucking dog, am I? I can't stand being in the dark. Now why are you talking about blood bags, and why- oh my God-"

I cut myself off, staring at Colby's lips.

They were coated with a thick red substance that looked a lot like blood.

Blood?

Blood bag?

What the fuck was going on? My head started pounding, causing me to go down, but Colby caught me before I did.

"Owww." I whimpered as the lights started flashing back to back in my brain.

I couldn't see them, couldn't make out the pictures...except one. Colby standing in front of me, eyes black and bloodshot, little black veins creeping from underneath where the dark shadows were. Fangs.

Actual fangs protruding from his gums. Before he licked his lips, and sank them into my neck. I couldn't breathe.

The pain was receding, but I couldn't catch my breath.
