second year,
a nice carrow?
╚═══════════════╝

April was blooming with beautiful and colourful flowers, the sun shined brightly the day was perfect. Thankfully it was the weekend, so the students of Hogwarts School could enjoy a nice warm day outside for a change. Aimee spent her day with Evan, Regulus and Severus, they were a strange group of friends, however, they always managed to find something to talk about.

"Are you trying out for quidditch next year?" Evan asked Regulus

"Yes, I'm hoping to give my brother a hard time," Regulus said,

"He needs someone to make his life a little difficult for a change," Severus said, causing Evan and Regulus to laugh,

"Burke you're quiet," Evan said, she smiled at him,

"I'm just daydreaming," she said

"About?" Regulus asked

"Quidditch, I want to try out but my balance isn't the best," she admitted

"If you want I could help you with that," Evan said, she nodding her head,

"Oh no, here comes Black," Severus muttered

"Hey snakes," Sirius said, she held back her smile,

"We'll catch you two later," Evan told Aimee and Regulus, as he and Severus left the brothers and Burke alone.

The three of them walked along the black lake, laughing together, she and Regulus both knew that Sirius was just itching to tell them something. 'Maybe he was just waiting for the right moment?' she thought. Aimee was talking big talks of being able to do an aerial cartwheel, and both brothers weren't convinced.

"Fine, I'll show you,"

She stretched, before preparing to perform her aerial cartwheel for them, she took a running start, she threw her arms forward. Propelling her body forward, landing on her feet, they looked at her in amazement that she achieved it. They both clapped their hands applauding her.

"Thank you," she bowed "thank you," she smirked at them. "Oh no here comes Amycus," she muttered

"Oi, where's my sister?" he said harshly

"How am I suppose to know?"

"Have you seen her or not," he spat

"No, and get rid of the attitude," she warned

"Why should I? It's the only thing that makes you decent-

"Pissing me off makes me decent,"

"Yes," she lift her hand back to slap him, he hurried away before she could get him

"Hard to believe you're related to Carrows," Regulus said

"Yeah the whole family is bad news," Sirius said

"Hey, that's not totally true, what about Dahlia?" she said

"Oh yeah," Regulus said, knowing where she was going with it

"She's sweet and kind, very thoughtful of others, and she's a Carrow, by blood and name,"

"There's always a first I guess," Sirius said

"First Carrow not to be Slytherin she's in Ravenclaw with Dorcas, I think they're good friends too,"

"You have to admit Aimee it is weird to say that there's a nice Carrow out there," Regulus said,

"I suppose, there's also a shop in Knockturn Alley, called Borgin and Burkes, so I guess there's bad Burke's out there too," she said, she noticed them eyeing her as they were probably aware of the store and what kind of place it was "No relation," she spoke.

"There's good and bad in every family," Regulus said,

"Yes, I remember my grandfather before he died would always say, we all have dark and light inside us, but it's the part you act on that shows who you truly are,"

"I like that saying," Sirius said, she smiled at him, "on another note, you're good at defence against the dark arts,"

"No, I'm not doing your homework," she immediately answered

"No, not that," he waved his hands

"I'm not doing Potter's either,"

"No, I just wanted to ask you about a theory," she creased her brows, nodding her head wondering what he would want to know. "Alright, so you know werewolves," he began

"Yes, we haven't learned about werewolves but I've read about them," she said,

"I thought you would have,"

"So what's your question?" Regulus asked

"Right, I know that werewolves, don't remember who they are when they turn on a full moon, and would potentially kill their best friend if they crossed paths-

"Potentially? They would, there's no question about that,"

"Alright, is there any way that they wouldn't attack someone?"

"I guess, an animagus because they would see an animal, rather than a person,"

"So if a werewolf were to come across Minnie as a cat, they wouldn't attack her,"

"No, I don't think so," Sirius grew a big smile on his face

"Aimee you are genius, I'm going to kiss you,"

"Do not kiss me,"

"I'm not," he leaned forward kissing her cheek quickly

"Did it anyway!" he yelled, running back to the castle

"What was that about?" Regulus said nudging her shoulder

"I have no idea,"

"Yeah sure, he might still like you-

"Reg, we've been over this, I was doing him a favour,"

"I know, I know, but just say he does," Regulus began, she narrowed her eyes wondering where he was going to this, "would you really date him?" she thought for only a second before answering.

"I'm not going to lie, hanging out with him, just him, was so much fun and yes our little date was like my dream date, but we're better as friends I know that and I wouldn't ruin that,"

"Okay, I'll drop it," he said, she smiled at him, "it's just you seemed like you were really dating like it wasn't an act,"

"Thank you, for complimenting my acting skills," she praised, he chuckled, she knew that not was he meant, however, the conversation had turned too awkward to continue on the topic.

She couldn't lie to herself, spending time with Sirius was great and she learned more about him. However, she knew it had to come to end, even if she didn't want it to. He was just trying to win a dare between him and Potter. For that reason, Aimee believed he would never want to date her, despite how much Dorcas believed that would.
