Richard fell to his knees.
The Bat-family was scattered around him.
No one was breathing.
'They're fine.' Richard lied to himself.
No eyes opened.
'They're just sleeping.' He lied again.
There was many holes and tears in the costumes.
'Just old costumes. They rip all the time.' Dick tried to reason with himself.
He couldn't.
He couldn't lose his family.
Not again.
Not all in one night again.
He couldn't.
'They're fine.' He lied.
He lied.
He lied to himself until the Justice and Young Justice Leagues showed up.
Then he lied to them.
"They're just sleeping. It's just tears. It's not as bad as it looks. They're fine. We're fine!" Dick lied.
He knew they weren't fine.
They would never be fine again.
They were dead.
Superman held him tightly and quickly took him from the scene.
No, they were fine!
They were fine.
