"Microsurgery is about precision. The microscope changes your perspective radically. The hand-eye coordination required can be learned, but right now, I need naturals. Each one of you will get a chance to guide this pen through the hole in the cup. The 2 residents who make a mark closest to the president's nose and doesn't hit the side of the cup gets to scrub in. Who wants to go first?"

Eager hands from the residents fly up, Derek chooses Steve to go first "Take your time"

Steve fails miserably "Do over?"

"Way to go, two" Cristina mocks

Reed takes a turn next "Really concentrate. Take your time"

Reed fails "Next" Derek says

After a while only three residents are left to take their turn, Jackson is up first and hits the spot "Nicely done. If somebody improves on that, I'll be out of a job" Derek praises

"Well, I guess you might need to retire, then" Madelyn says smirking at Jackson who is grinning at his work

Madelyn takes her spot and perfectly places the pen smiling smugly at Jackson

"Very impressive" Derek says nodding in approval at his sisters attempt

"My turn" Cristina says confidently, she takes her turn but fails standing there in shock

"Okay. Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Avery, You'll be scrubbing in"

Madelyn and Jackson are at the vending machines discussing the surgery when Lexie walks up to them "You guys are nervous, right, about being in there that long? Because me, too"

"What do you have to be nervous about? Shepherd didn't even let you compete" Jackson says

"No. That's ... that's because he needs me to maintain his care while we're in there. I'm his doctor, basically"

"Wow. So you fell for that?" Madelyn says holding back a laugh

"Because, I mean, it sounds ... It sounds more like you're his b¡tch" Jackson says

"What? No. I'm ... that ... it's ... I'm ... I'm not ... You're gonna need to take a break eventually and ... and ... and you're gonna need to stretch. You're gonna need to pee. And when you do ... I'll be there to take over"

"Yeah, I don't ... I don't take breaks" Madelyn says to the younger girl

"You seriously think You're gonna last all day in there?"

"I've done it before, yeah. But that's because I know how to stop taking fluids before a long surgery. Have fun playing nurse. I mean, it sounds ... Neat." Jackson replies cockily walking away
