~~~~~
Madelyn's day starts off by being repeatedly paged by Meredith to the basement, she rubs her eyes and rolls out of the bed she stayed in last night in an on-call room and heads off to find Meredith
"No way" Cristina says shocked standing next to Madelyn who is unable to even form a sentence after what she just heard
"Yeah" Meredith replies
"No freaking way" Cristina says again
"Right?" Meredith says
"Oh my God...Ok. Were you trying too?" Cristina asks
"No! Total accident"
"Oh so are we happy about this?" Cristina asks
"Or are we exceeding our legal right to choose?" Madelyn finally says
Meredith doesn't say anything she just smiles
"Ok, alright!" Madelyn says giving Meredith a hug "
"Congratulations" Cristina says also hugging Mer
"Have you told Derek?" Madelyn asks
"No, I just found out-"
But Meredith is cut short when all three of the girls pagers go off "Derek" Meredith says looking at the name on her pager
"Are you going to tell him now?" Cristina asks
"Yeah"
Madelyn grabs Meredith's shoulder gently "This is very adult. I'm proud of you Meredith Grey"
"I'm proud of me too?" Meredith says unsure of how to respond
The girls all turn to go their separate way but before they get to far Cristina says "I hope it has his hair"
"Me too" Meredith agrees
After rounding on her patients Madelyn heads up to Dereks office so she can finish up her charts
She's been doing a lot of her work in her brothers office because it's quiet and no one ever interrupts
She knocks on the door entering slowly "Hey Derek" she says pulling up a chair and sitting on the opposite side of her brothers desk
"Hey Mads, you okay"
"No, todays been boring, i've done nothing but round!"
"You wanna know what boring, being the chief. All I ever do is paper work"
"Yeah well you chose this"
"Shut up" Derek says to his sister "Get on with your work" he jokes
"Yes boss" she jokes back, the siblings falling into a peaceful silence
