Flashbacks

Madelyn's eyes dart open at the overbearing sound of chaos surrounding her. The last sound she remembers hearing before shutting her eyes in what felt like forever was the sound of a chopper. A sound she had been wanting to hear for days. She remembers the bright light blinding her from above, she shut her eyes as a sign of relief and the next time she opened them she didn't know where she was.

Before she even has time to prices she surroundings she pushes herself up so she's sitting on her gurney and calls out for her best friend "Lexie, Lexie"

Someone walks over to her "You need to lay down, you need to be still so we can clean your burns"

A hospital, she's at a hospital "What, I-I'm fine, I need Lexie where's Lexie?"

And then she remembers the girls lifeless body, followed by the awful sound of wolves that haunted them in the night as they fought over Lexie's body

"You need to stay still" the nurse says

"Derek? Where's my brother. Oh my God. Mark, where's Mark?" she pleads

"Please lay down" the nurse says again as a doctor tries to clean her wounds

"No, stop-stop it" she screams "Where us everyone, where's Meredith and-and Cristina" she yells slowly remembering everything "Arizonas leg, oh god"  she cries

"Please stop moving, everyone is being well looked after, now let us look after you" the nurse says

Madelyn gives in, way to exhausted to bother. As she sits back down she feels the urge to cry and let it all out, but she can't, her body has been completely drained, she couldn't even cry. But she could scream, and she did, every single time the doctor cleaned her wounds it felt like she was being continuously stabbed in the leg with the sharpest blade known to mankind.

As she struggles to keep herself from going completely insane she hears voices coming from outside her room.

"I don't care if I'm not allowed to see her, i'm going in anyway" an all familiar voice shouts

"I'm asking you nicely, do not go in there" someone says back

"I need to see her, I need to know she's okay!" the familiar voice shouts "I shouldn't have told her to go" the voice says quieter but still loud enough for Madelyn to hear

"April" she whispers to herself

"You can't go in-"

"Listen I don't think you understand, this is my fault okay, it's my fault she's in pain, so just let me-"

"You can't-"

"The hell I can't!" April yells as she pushes past the doctor and into the room, the redhead freezes instantly at the sight of the girl, she swallows the lump in her throat as she hold back her tears taking small steps towards Madelyn.
