"Okay, that's everybody" Richard says as Madelyn walks into the conference room "Shut the door"

"Well, wait. Where's Avery?" Callie asks

"We can get started without him. I asked Hunt to share some news with you" Richard says

Owen nods "Dr. Russell spoke with me yesterday. He's leaving the hospital"

"My boss Russell?" Cristina asks

"He assured me four times that it had nothing to do with this Harper Avery situation" Owen says

"Which means it has everything to do with this Harper Avery situation" Richard interrupts

"I'm sorry, am I missing something? What situation?" Arizona asks

"No one from this hospital will ever win a Harper Avery. Catherine Avery told that to Richard" Meredith says

"Richard thinks we should appeal" Owen says

"You mean I should appeal and humiliate myself further?" Cristina asks

Richard shakes his head "This is not about you, Yang. This is about the hospital being able to get money for research and to attract more surgeons. We're already losing top talent"

Madelyn shrugs "Eh, Russell's a loss, but he's no Cristina Yang" she says earning a high-five from Cristina

"Yeah, but Cristina Yang can't be Cristina Yang if we lose funding" Derek points out

"...The N.I.H. funds winners... people with track records" Callie says

"People with Harper Averys" Mer says

"Appealing the decision is not the worst idea in the world. What do you think, Yang? You in?" Derek asks

They all look at Cristina, who simply walks out, followed by Meredith and Madelyn

"I hate this. I just want one day where I'm not reminded of the Harper Avery. A-and now the hospital's in danger of losing grants? How is being nominated for this award going to cost me grants? Did everyone forget that I put a printed conduit in a kid and it worked?" Cristina says

"A bunch of guys in Zurich didn't forget. They want you to come and speak about it. It's a free trip. I mean, an hour of talking for five days in the Swiss Alps?" Madelyn says

"I'm not running away" Cristina defends

Meredith nods "We know that"

Cristina sighs "Yeah, but that's what everyone's gonna think."

"No, they don't. Everyone here is angry for you. Everyone supports you" Mer says

Cristina scoffs "Okay, can we just stop for a minute about how the hospital is one big, happy family? It's a business. I get it. Catherine Avery made a business decision. I've moved on. Everyone else should, too"

"Where have you been?!" April exclaims as Madelyn walks into the exam room

"Sorry, sorry we had a board meeting" she replies standing next to April who is waiting for her ultra sound

"Okay..." the OB says "And... there you go. See right there? That little blueberry's what you've been waiting for..."

Madelyn looks at the scan in shock, this is the first time it's hit her. She's gonna be a Mom. Her racing thoughts are interrupted by the OB

"...Or not. This wasn't the idea?" she asks "Are you looking to terminate?"

April gasps "God, no, no"

"No, no." Madelyn says still staring intently at the scan

"Okay, then" the OB says handing April a picture of the baby    as she leaves "Well, get dressed and meet me in my office"

"You don't want to terminate, do you? You're not having second thoughts right?" April asks

"No, no" Madelyn shakes her head "We're having a baby" she smiles pacing a kiss on top of Aprils heads

Over lunch April says "I just think it's kind of shocking that the first option tossed onto the table for a pregnant woman with mixed feelings is termination"

"I think she's just doing her job" Madelyn shrugs

"Can you just be on my side?" April whines

"I am on your side. I just don't think we need to vilify the O.B. for one comment" Madelyn says

"I wasn't. I-I was... Maybe I was. I don't know. I don't want to fight" April says

"Me neither" Madelyn replies

"What about Phoebe if it's a girl?" April suggest

Madelyn laughs "Phoebe Freebie? Slutty" she says before noticing April's face "Uh, but, uh, cute. Terrific. It's one of the better names"

"Yeah, no Phoebe cannot be an option after that reaction" April replies

At the end of the day Madelyn struggles to find April, as she's about to give up and head home assuming the redhead had left already she walks past the hospital chapel, she opens the doors and sit enough she sees April sitting alone

"Hi" Madelyn whispers taking a seat next to her

"Hey. How did you know I was..."

"I know who you hang out with" Madelyn replies as she wraps one of her arms around April "You okay?"

April nods "Yeah. Yeah. I just needed to sit down for a bit"

"Should probably get used to these seats, though" earning a weird look from April "I can't change who I am. But that doesn't mean I want to sit at home every Sunday when my family's off at church"

April looks up at the brunette in awe "You would go to church with me?"

"You're my wife, I'd do anything for you. As long as we can get waffles after" Madelyn replies turning away from the redhead

April smiles and places a kiss on Madelyn's cheek "We can have waffles after" she replies before resting her head on Madelyn's shoulder
