"All right. Edwards?" Madelyn address the resident promoting her to inform her on the patient
"Uh, Mary Parkman, 25. Complaining of gradual onset severe abdominal pain. History of previous appy. She's moving around so much, I couldn't really get a read" Edwards replies
"Hi. Mary, I'm gonna just gently palpate your abdomen to check for tenderness, okay?" Madelyn says forcing Mary to groan in pain "Yeah, abdomen's distended. Mm-hmm"
"Ow!" Mary yelps
"Hang in there, noodle. You're doing great" a man who's been by Mary's side the whole time says
"I hate that you're seeing me like this" Mary replies
"You hurt, I hurt, sugarbear. I'm here for you" he says making Madelyn gag
"They do that a lot" Edwards says wearing a similar expression
Madelyn turns her attention back to the patient "Mary? Uh, Mary, can you tell me if the pain is localized in any part of your abdomen, or is it..."
"N-No, it's... it's everywhere. It's... Ow!"
"Okay. All right. You are doing great. Can you breathe?" Madelyn asks "Deep breaths. In. Good. Out. In"
"Oh, Dr. Kepner" Edwards says calling the redhead over
"Dennis made me breakfast in bed" Mary barely gets out while Madelyn continues listening to her breathing "It was... so sweet"
"What's up Edwards" April says
"...Pancakes, bacon, a..." Mary continues
As Stephanie was about to tell April why she needed her Mary Vomits all over the redhead
"Oh, my God. I am so sorry" Mary instantly apologies
Madelyn hides her snicker
"No, it's fine" April replies sweetly
Madelyn looks down at her pager which reads 911 for an ortho consult "Edwards, um, admit her, and, uh, page Dr. Webber" she instructs leaving the resident alone
"Dr. Kepner she's all yours now" Madelyn informs
"Yup, uh huh- I'm just gonna go..."
"Go wash the puke out of your hair?" Madelyn asks
"Mm-hmm" April hums in response

"Your hair is looking much better by the way" Madelyn teases as she joins April at the nurses station
"Very funny" the redhead replies sarcastically
